Aftermarket seats?

Who has some installed in their s197? What brand (Sparco, Recaro, Corbeau, ETC.) and how do they fit and are they comfortable? Any imput is appreciated. Thanks.

That is the million dollar question - giving advice without that info is pointless IMO.

Recaro "Speed" seats. LOVE EM'! I've done a 650mi round trip with them and I would go as far as to say they were more comfortable than the OEM Premium leather seats the car came with. And even with beefy fully adjustable sliders the pair was 56lb lighter than the OEM seats.

And even without harnesses I have no problem staying in them during very "spirited" driving.

I like the Corbeau brand... A4's are nice for the price, but I found the CR1's to be more comfortable and worth the extra $ If I was in the market for new seats.

For a daily, my Corbeaus are nice buy they do wear out kinda fast. Plus they fade if you leave them unprotected(hasnt happened on mine yet but I garage the car and use a sun shade when i'm parking in the sun)

You really need to sit in a set before you purchase it, everyone fits seats differently. I HATE sparcos but my buddy loves his.

I'm wondering if the wide Corbeau CR1's will fit or not?

i have contacted corbeau in regards to this issue and the man i spoke with me assured me a CR1 wide would fit in a S197.

if it helps the wide is 1.5" wider in each direction

Not a great pic, but Corbeau LG1s. Very comfortable, even on long trips. Do sit a little low which could be an issue for vertically challenged persons.

Corbeau uses a very cheap fabric that will tear prematurely, and sun fade quicker from what ive seen. i had a4s in my old car and liked them a lot though

The new ones are actually a different material and have leather patches on the "high wear areas" Mine actually haven't faded yet and I've had them in the car nearly a year now.

The old ones how ever were notorious for this, I seent it

the a4s i had had leather patches on them as well, and the seams still busted loose in a few spots. granted they were a few years old, and whored around a bit before i got them.......

i love the microsuede, but everytime i see it online, it looks purple

Summit makes a decent sport seat, used to have them in my old car, now the best but they are cheap and did the job.

except those summit sport seats are the most uncomfortable seats i have ever sat it. like sitting on a brick.
