Not sure if it has been posted or not, but I did read the entire thread. Anything else needed in order to install the intake besides the intake itself?

If you would have read the thread he did say it takes basic tools.

Yeah I got that part. There was also mention of the Boss fuel rail covers so I was trying to see if any other Boss parts were going to be needed in order for the intake to look "complete."

no one will know exactly what all is included since there is a Ford Racing version and a Boss version.. they might be exactly the same or not, and may or may not have different parts included.. wont know until both are released... is what I have been told anyways.

They are exactly the same. Neither one includes the fuel rail covers.

If there is a difference, the FRPP one "may" include hardware (new bolts), and the Ford part number will not.

I think the FR one has a decal on the nameplate on the back end of the intake, and the one through oem parts does not.

Also, what's the story on the solenoid that's removed?

Lastly, fuel to fire, anyone hear from BBR?

Yeah I know I put a deposit down and nothing.....

Piss poor.....I would get your money back and find a vendor who has one now. There are plenty. Blueoval, Late Model, and Tousley Ford will have them in a couple of weeks.

I wouldn't count on that. These are backordered until April 1st, and if it's like any of the other FRPP backorders, that date will probably get bumped again. However, since these are technically production items, there is a greater motivation to make these available simply because Ford will need them.

Mid range tq loss isnt worth the high rpm gain for me, I wont be getting one of these.

Thanks for the writeup! Very informative.

May not be reading the graph right, but from what I am understanding, the only gains are coming after about 6600rpm's right....up until about 7300?

I am extremely disappointed

I'm not. It's what it so be expected in a high-RPM application. I went ahead and did some math based on the dyno graphs...

I stuck all of my pertinent info into an RPM/speed calculator... 3.73s, manual gear ratios for the MT82, 305/35/18 tire so that I could literally track down the exact RPM I would be in at in the next gear during peak powerband shifts. I then ran an average RWHP number for every 100 rpms seen during WOT after shifts. THUS:

Shifting at 7,000rpm with the stock intake in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th... based on those numbers, gives the following horsepower averages:

2nd: 387.6
3rd: 395.2
4th: 403.4
5th: 402.6

Shifting at 7500rpm with the new intake yields:

2nd: 405.8
3rd: 411.8
4th: 419.0
5th: 418.2

In a nutshell, even with that ugly dip that JJ thinks he can tune out, the intake is giving 18, 17, 16 and 16whp on average per gear. with that dip tuned out (and a static 424rwhp across that 700rpm) it's 21, 21, 20 and 20whp.

I'll take that all... DAY.. LONG.

I just ordered mine :)

I have a tracking number and mine will be here next Tuesday. It is the FRPP part number as well. Plenty of vendors have them in stock.
