I doubt any rule differences would have prevented this. He has a lot of posts and he has a perfect itrader rating. People spoke of him highly. There's not much else you can ask for.

I got to thinking with all of the worries expressed on here about the quality so I decided to go over mine more thoroughly. I originally just looked at the welds and they look good so I put them away since I knew I wouldn't be on the dyno until after Dragging Rights. I took some pictures of the damage that I see on my plates. One of the holes has a piece completely gone. What it looks like is it melted and the aluminum from the chipped area melted into where the gasket goes. There are also dings all over the plates. I took a pic of the most obvious area. Some of the holes have been ported so heavily that ports are off by quite a bit. The side walls almost look paper thin in some areas. To be honest I have no idea if that really matters on the plates. I put mine on a flat surface and they wobble severely. The middle portion of the plates are the thickest but the ends are off by a huge amount. I did not put the calipers on them yet, but I would say over .100 easily. These plates work like a see saw on a flat surface. I should have checked this earlier but these plates are junk. Since he isn't replying I'll go straight to the paypal claim. I'm done dealing with this situation.

They look terrible. I agree with Fuel,he was rushing it big time.

What's really sad,is that his reutation here is done...and for what?? 300 bucks or so..sad

sure, adding an address, contact info, real name.
requiring sellers to post pictures with a paper that has username and date, to ensure validity of said item.

im pretty sure that would have helped everyone

Meh, there is no way to validate any of that information unless you verify against say a credit card or bank account number matching the address/name given like paypal does for your verified status. You may scare away some of the crooks but not all of them. This guy didn't come in here to screw people over for $70 plates, he just got too deep and probably realized he screwed up and is now cutting his losses. I could grab a photo online of said item and photoshop it with username and date. A crook is a crook plain and simple and they always find ways to beat the system. On a site like this you purchase in faith based on reputation. To be honest you purchase in faith no matter where you buy online. Summit and Jegs don't post pics of the actual item, you purchase based on their strong reputation.

Ok, seriously? i am pretty sure you would notice a picture used online that has been photoshopped with a handwritten letter of user name and date next to the item, and no shit, summit doesnt post pictures of said item on hand, they sell NEW products. There is a HUGE difference in buying used parts and providing pics on a forum, than buying NEW products from an online wholesaler.

Yeah seriously, don't take it personally, I can take two photos and merge them easily without being noticed. I'm sure someone with enough skill can make them look pretty damn real. There's two sides to every argument, I'm just providing a realistic one and your so called methods to prevent crooks have nothing to do with preventing this ordeal from happening. This guy had people lined up waiting to get a set based on his reputation. Like I said you can't verify ANY of that information you mentioned. Those so called NEW parts from online wholesalers, half of that shit is a return or lot buys. It's the same concept whether you purchase new or used. When you buy online you take a chance simple as that. You think those wholesalers don't have disputes and claims? As an example a couple years ago I bought a flex plate for a 5liter I had. When I got it from Summit it had scratches all over the face and a chip in it. I warped my flimsy stock one and the mild steel one from Summit worked fine. When I called Summit to complain about a $62 plate they said I could return it but the returns that aren't defective upon inspection get put right back in the pile, so chances of a scratch free one are slim. Some companies sell there returns off which is why they charge a restocking fee ie. Best Buy (they have 3 stores on Ebay). I kept it caused it worked. Still the same concept. We're not keeping this thread alive to beat ourselves up over what we could have done to prevent this shit from happening like some cryin ass bitches. Move along-----with your :2cents:, there's no need to make this into a pissing match over your fucking opinion, we all have one just some of us don't take it so fucking personal when others disagree. Last I checked you didn't have a dog in this fight so STFU and move along to the new ad rule post with your suggestions.

Shannon, I will redeem your money, and/or give you another set of plates.

Guys, here goes.....

I haven't been completely honest with you guys. Now I realize it has officially put me in a situation that is far beyond "just a mishap". It has now gone to a level of claims, money situation's, and in a way "theft" of your money for some of you.

Like stated many times before, I thought I could make it right. I am obviously a very poor communicating person. Expecially when it comes to a deal like this.

I should have not even sold them not finished to begin with. Then I lied about shipping them, numerous times.....

I want to make it right. I can guarantee that, and I will do anything to make it right.

The other sets that were "supposedly" shipped, didn't get shipped. That's being completely honest.

I do have them finished, and need to box them. Thent they can be shipped. If you guys still want plates, I can get them to you this week. That's no lie, again, I will be completely honest with you from here on out.

If you guys want a refund, I will do everything I can to get the money to my girlfriend to put in her account to send the money paypal or I will try to get money order's.

Honestly, I have $5 in my bank account. It may be a couple of days before I will have the money.

Before anything is said, I am not any type of addict, nor do I use any type of drugs. I have been struggling here lately with money paying bills, and that's now why I work 2 jobs.

Enough bullshit.

I understand if Kimmer wants to completely ban me, or delete my account here. I am sure a lot of you guys will want that after this post.

I have all of your addresses, and will get you the plates this week.

OneQuickStang, I apologize for lying to you man. I apologize to lying to all of you. I know that is not what you guys deserve, none of you.

I will dismiss myself from selling anything on here once this deal is finalized with the rest of you.

Shannon, I didn't look to see if you posted the pics of the plates, but if you will, please send them to me, so I can fix it in the future. In the meantime, pm me and we can talk about making it right.

P.S. I am sorry if it seems I have been missing the past couple of days, my dad had emergency surgery again for 3 blood clots. I have been with him all weekend.

He is all I have. He taught me everything I know. Unfortunately I didn't take his advice on being honest 100% of the time.

He's ok now, and comes home Tuesday.

Guys, I never use a debit/credit card.

I am going to the bank tomorrow to get a new one sent to me. I will then open a new paypal account so that all the claims and/or settlements made can be on that one.

The paypal account I have been using is my girlfriends, and honestly don't want to use it right now with all of this.

I will make this right guys, I promise.

I apologize for being irresponsible, and dishonest.

Thanks man. I really appreciate that.

Right now, the only thing bothering me is the way I have treated these guys.

idk. you have made about 5 guarantees on this thread so far and they were all empty promises. I still need my damn plates but I needed them about 2 weeks ago, so if you cant have the money refunded by tomorrow, i guess i'll just keep waiting for plates and cross my fingers that they dont look like some of these guys did.
