I doubt any rule differences would have prevented this. He has a lot of posts and he has a perfect itrader rating. People spoke of him highly. There's not much else you can ask for.
I got to thinking with all of the worries expressed on here about the quality so I decided to go over mine more thoroughly. I originally just looked at the welds and they look good so I put them away since I knew I wouldn't be on the dyno until after Dragging Rights. I took some pictures of the damage that I see on my plates. One of the holes has a piece completely gone. What it looks like is it melted and the aluminum from the chipped area melted into where the gasket goes. There are also dings all over the plates. I took a pic of the most obvious area. Some of the holes have been ported so heavily that ports are off by quite a bit. The side walls almost look paper thin in some areas. To be honest I have no idea if that really matters on the plates. I put mine on a flat surface and they wobble severely. The middle portion of the plates are the thickest but the ends are off by a huge amount. I did not put the calipers on them yet, but I would say over .100 easily. These plates work like a see saw on a flat surface. I should have checked this earlier but these plates are junk. Since he isn't replying I'll go straight to the paypal claim. I'm done dealing with this situation.

sure, adding an address, contact info, real name.
requiring sellers to post pictures with a paper that has username and date, to ensure validity of said item.
im pretty sure that would have helped everyone
Meh, there is no way to validate any of that information unless you verify against say a credit card or bank account number matching the address/name given like paypal does for your verified status. You may scare away some of the crooks but not all of them. This guy didn't come in here to screw people over for $70 plates, he just got too deep and probably realized he screwed up and is now cutting his losses. I could grab a photo online of said item and photoshop it with username and date. A crook is a crook plain and simple and they always find ways to beat the system. On a site like this you purchase in faith based on reputation. To be honest you purchase in faith no matter where you buy online. Summit and Jegs don't post pics of the actual item, you purchase based on their strong reputation.
Ok, seriously? i am pretty sure you would notice a picture used online that has been photoshopped with a handwritten letter of user name and date next to the item, and no shit, summit doesnt post pictures of said item on hand, they sell NEW products. There is a HUGE difference in buying used parts and providing pics on a forum, than buying NEW products from an online wholesaler.
, there's no need to make this into a pissing match over your fucking opinion, we all have one just some of us don't take it so fucking personal when others disagree. Last I checked you didn't have a dog in this fight so STFU and move along to the new ad rule post with your suggestions.Man o man. Glad you finally got on Chris.
