IMO that's is a bad idea on ford's part. the long, deep bolts avoid block distortion. bolting onto the face of the block is to save money IMO.
deleting squirters? cost savings, maybe a slightly lower volume oil pump.... sounds like ford gained hp from less drag.
its simply oil in your intake manifold. the non-starting has a flash at the dealer.
they all smoke at times from pooling oil in the intake manifold. get a catch can and it will totally stop. get a passsenger side can.

his engine to include heads is trashed. most blowers can be bolted to a different manifold and still work fine.
i dont like locking it for the 2-3 shift. flare is what kills ford transmissions and locked will make it worse. after the 2-3 i personally lock it. the new converter willl allow me to lock it outright and quickly without blowing the clutches.
