It's that time of year again :rich: Does anyone have any big car plans?

I'm planning to get some street wheels/tires and caster/camber plates so I can daily drive again.
If I have enough left I may get a wideband and watertemp gauge. I REALLY want a TH400 but I didn't overpay Uncle Sam near that much :burnout:

I'm spending the tax money elsewhere. Might drop a couple hundred on the car for cosmetic stuff like getting the windows tinted or something.

I want to grab an SCT tuner and tune from VMP some Vorshlag Bilsteins all around. Whether I actually go through with it is a whole 'nother story.

I want a Circle D 285mm 3C multi disc torque converter. Hopefully I get my tax refund back in enough time before NMRA in March to get it ordered and installed.

I think I'm getting all of 300-400 so it's not going to go very far, just go into the swirling vortex of debt you have when you're modifying an old Bullitt. Ask Sqwerl.

All the damn tax fairy ever does is cost me money. I'll be forking over a few hundred come tax time, it's been that way ever since my wife and I got married. Sucks.

Claim less, get taxed more, end of year savings account.

Yeah, been trying that, doesn't seem to help. We both claim single. Last year I made the mistake of claiming 1 on my state taxes and we owed over $300 to the state.

I can't remember if I'm claiming 1 or zero on my federal taxes, but as long as we don't owe $400-something like we did last year I'll be happy. We have almost no deductions and make semi-decent money so I know that doesn't help things.

Send a message to Taxman (if he's still active here). It sounds like it's the way you're filing.

Savings accounts make a little interest though. This is just letting uncle Sam spend your money all year then give some back.

I had a financial planner tell me that you ideally want to break even at tax time.

I'm hoping that I don't have to pay money. Depending on what happens with my health care tax I will either get money back or I will be paying a few hundred this year.

My wife is self employed and she does not report quarterly, so we end up paying something like $1800. It would help if I zero out my claims. I may consider that for the coming year.

Either way I will be getting wheels for the MT ET Pros I bought a couple months back.

Those days are long gone. Our kids are adults and we've been in the house so long that itemizing doesn't get us more than claiming standard deductions.

I guess I shouldn't complain, things are actually pretty good but the days of big refunds are long gone for us. Unless Trump holds to his promise of stopping the big taxes on the middle class.

It just kills me that my wife and I pay a decent amount of money to the Treasury and that same Treasury department will give refunds to people who didn't pay anything. I can understand paying very little if you make little but giving my money out to someone who paid little to nothing is just plain wrong.

Rant over. Sorry but I had to let it all hang out.

As for mods I do have a set of Lunati cams that I haven't installed yet. They were paid for with money I earned working.

I will skim enough though to put a Rollbar in before summer..

Im excited for my taxes. I get a rebate of 30% of 45k for a solar install. Plus, I will get at least that much back in regular taxes too because of other deductions.

Car money comes from overtime, so tax money is used for the house.

We are planning on completing the back yard and building a cover for the back patio.

0 will be happening this year. Plan is to have my student loan debt gone this year, so every penny is going towards that. :beatdeadhorse5:
On the plus side, next year should be awesome. :rotflmao:

Whatever I get will be put in the bank. I'm buying a new set of wheels/tires when I get back from my work trip in two weeks. Won't be able to file for a few weeks anyway.
