I am going to replace the transmission mount on my 2005 GT. I see there are a bunch of aftermarket ones and OEM seems to be discontinued.
DEA, API, Anchor are a few I saw. Would like to get one that is considered good by those who know. My car has 155K on the original and even if it hasn't failed it has certainly served it's time. There seems to be a separation in this pic although it might be a shadow.trans mount.jpg

I replaced mine about 3 yrs ago.........I chose Anchor since I read from research that Anchor also manufactures parts for the OEM's thus the part would most likely be manufactured to Ford's OEM design specs at a minimum. Mine was the OEM production line original, wasn't as bad as yours is showing to be (the crack is evidence that the rubber bonding to the metal is starting to fail........mine was off a '09 vs yours @ '05 so yours has a few more yrs wear.........)--I changed mine due to its age & me making a LOT of 1\4 mi WOT hits during self-tuning (thinking it was getting soft............).

I tested the rubber durometer of the old OEM unit vs the new Anchor part & the Anchor part was much stiffer thus indicated to be a better built part (potentially less flexing thus less TQ transfer loss thru driveline to rear axle while retaining a smooth ride.........which was what I was looking for........). Been flawlessly operating since & from this experience, I've also bought a set of Anchor motor mounts as well to replace them at the 1st opportunity..........but so far, the original production line OEM motor mounts are holding up just fine over 186,000+ mi & a LOT of datalogged WOT hits.

Can't say about the other brands........can only speak to the Anchor brand 05-10 Ford S197 TR3650 trans isolator.

IMHO, I really think you'll be OK regardless of which 1 you choose.

Hope this helps.

is your 05 a manual transmission car ? If so... there is a guy on Ebay.com who sells a OEM transmount Brand new ! He had two... I bought one - didn´t want to buy both, because I was thinking that probably someone else would like to have a new OEM tranny mount..

I looked but could not find it.
I have narrowed it down to the Anchor and the Pioneer. The Pioneer seems to mimic the oem part while the Anchor is indeed stiffer like Glasstop09 stated.

If its an auto id go for the stiffer option as them auto boxes weigh a ton, I'm only guessing the manual gearbox would be a lot lighter. I personally wouldn't worry about a small breakaway from the steel like that at this point unless the rigidness has gone out of the rubber. or its the rubber is perished looking

FYI You can always inject some polyurethane (windshield sealer) into the cavity to stiffen it up... I have done this on motor mounts, trans mounts and even suspension bushing, when a HD or HP aftermarket version wasn't available etc. Learned it from a buddy that used to race imports... LOL

My car has been having a clank when shifting since I got it. It is a manual. Weird thing is sometimes it shifts perfect. I found the center bolt on the trans mount somewhat loose and after tightening it the shifts were quiet for about a week. But then rhe clank returned. I am thinking the mount is failing but I cannot know for sure without pulling it.

My issue is I have the exhaust supports still on the trans crossmember. I know I could simply cut them off but I really don't want to. So I would like to have a new mount when I go through the hassle of getting it out.

That center exhaust hanger can cause noise issues.

So I ended up going for the Pioneer mount. I layed under there and there was no way that crossmember was coming off with those exhaust hangers there. Finally just said f it and cut them off. Once those were gone the mount comes right off. Of course the original mount was fine. But that extra part it has is riveted on. It twists back and forth and has a metal to metal sound. So I went ahead and used the new mount.
It does seem to shift better. In the end I think the clank is gear lash but now that the exhaust hangers are gone It isn't making that metallic clank anymore.mount2.jpgmount 1.jpgmount.jpg
