    Ring land and/or cracked piston.......I suspect a piece of piston hit the plug wiping out the ground electrode and dislodging the insulator!!:eek: You need to drop a bore camera in there and hopefully prove me wrong??:cool: GOOD LUCK!! :thumb:

    What "skwerl" said.......crappy Clear Coat.....probably accelerated it too much and it was brittle with a poor bond to the Base Coat!!:cool: I had it happen on a Crown Vic once.....especially the flexible bumper cover!!:(

    Driver's side on mine was the entire unit in the center of the steering wheel....replaced last year in 10 minutes!!:) Passenger's side was just the inflator and it only took 15 minutes to install but it took 3 weeks for my dealership to get it!!:cool:

    Disconnecting the battery.

    Always disconnect the ground (BLACK) first and connect it back last if you ever disconnect both cables from the battery......this ensures that any surge you may have goes to ground to protect the electronics in the car!! ;)
