    2018 A10 Mustang Gt 500+RWHP

I've heard it looks fugly under the cover thanks to the DI. Agree that the cover looks bad though, I wont be surprised to see an aftermarket cover made by someone eventually

Steeda's New Mustang Clutch Spring Assist and Spring Perch Kit (11-14 All)

Is the perch only necessary if you break the stock one? I just got my spring in the mail a couple days ago, and now I see this

    Long Tube Header Fitment

Yup that's what I was trying to say

    Advice to new modders

One of the best laws in Arizona is the "castle law". Basically if someone comes into your home uninvited and you feel threatened for yourself or family you can murder the shit out of them, but even if you dont they cant really sue you like some of these other stupid ass states allow. Break into...

    Advice to new modders

550 to the wheels N/A isnt easy, most are stoked if they ever break the 500 barrier. I would add ported heads, CJ, and throttle body to your list to get over 500.

    Long Tube Header Fitment

There's definitely some differences with the exhaust fitment, even though the headers should bolt right up to the engine

    Clearance issues for lowered cars?

Old school hot rodders didnt have many options, there wasnt a huge aftermarket for modifying cars. It's ricer because it isnt an engineered solution, you are literally just winging it at the expense of your ride quality and longevity of your shocks/struts in order to achieve a certain look. Then...

    Clearance issues for lowered cars?

That was awesome. I was starting to wonder if I was the only person around here who thought that was a trashy ricer thing to do.

    Clearance issues for lowered cars?

1 What does being a mechanic have to do with anything? It's not even worth trying to argue
  10. fourdegrees11

    Clearance issues for lowered cars?

Lol, how could it possibly be done right? You're shortening the travel without increasing the spring rate. That is 100% a ricer thing to do vs just paying $200 for some lowering springs

    Clearance issues for lowered cars?

#1 dont cut springs, that's some ricer BS. A 1" F, 1.5" R drop will not cause issues with clearance, but it will be a firmer ride than factory. These cars have a huge gap from the factory, that amount of lowering just puts it where it probably should have been. You will probably want the Ford...

    Staggered or square stance..

Yup, I went over that in post #54, but he wanted to know my wheel specs

    Staggered or square stance..

Sorry, fronts are 19x10 +40, rears 19x11 +50. Front brakes are 4 piston Brembos

    Idea Gathering

Here's a good place to start learning about the 3v platform, and boosting it http://departmentofboost.com/tech/boosting_3v.htm Some cheap mods you can do is upgrade rear suspension components (lower and upper control arms), better shocks/struts (Strange adjustables are a great budget option)...

    Staggered or square stance..

Yeah I dont think this is accurate at all unless your wheels have a completely jacked offset. For example I have a 1.5" front, 2" rear drop with 285/35r19 front, and 305/35r19 rear tires. Zero issues/rubbing/etc. Your rear tires are a little tall though
  16. fourdegrees11

    305-40-18's in a 200-300 tread wear rating ?

Yeah that 285/30 looks like a clown car. There are a decent amount of options in 26" tall tires, which seems to be what a lot of auto-x guys run on these cars. To me it's not worth it to drop that far down from 27" if you drive it on the street, it would have to be a dedicated track setup for me
  17. fourdegrees11

So I'm tired of running DR's...

You definitely have me highly considering 285/40r18 Conti Sports over 295/40r18 Falken 615K+ for a square setup when I eventually swap to my 18x10 Forgestars. Bonus points for the Contis being a good bit lighter

Can anyone advise personal experience regarding the long term durability of ceramic coated headers

I've seen a protective spray you can put on the wraps, probably helps a lot for motorcycles

Can anyone advise personal experience regarding the long term durability of ceramic coated headers

Anyone ever compared exhaust wrap vs ceramic coating?
  20. fourdegrees11

    Staggered or square stance..

    I believe that's correct but I'm not 100% sure
  21. fourdegrees11

    Staggered or square stance..

Yes that's what I'm doing. There was a guy selling just the rear springs for like $70 shipped on ACMR so I snagged them. I guess they're not the greatest for drag racing, so people with sportlines may replace the rears. The only negative I have about the swap is I scrape my exhaust a lot more...
  22. fourdegrees11

    Staggered or square stance..

All I can think is that you're comparing a much taller 35 sidewall on your current tires. 285/3020 is 26.7", where the 275/35r20 is 27.6". My 19x10 front wheels are 40mm, I have 285/35 tires on them, and lowered 1.5" with Ford k-springs up front (2" sportlines on the rear now). I've never...
  23. fourdegrees11

    Staggered or square stance..

Staggered has more benefit for straight line performance. You can go a lot lighter up front with a narrower wheel/tire, plus it will have less rolling resistance. Then you can go as big as needed in the rear for traction. Square your max width is limited by what fits up front. Auto-X guys will...

Why are you sticking with your S197?

My only thoughts on buying a brand new Mustang are look at how the values of used Mustangs just plummeted after the 2018 became available... It's not going to look good when the S650, or whatever is next in 2-3 years comes out. This for sure right now. I feel like I'm going to have my car for...

So I'm tired of running DR's...

Those were the DW not DWS, I saw that on ACMR too. Those tires seem like they're not being carried at tirerack anymore?
