    Whole Drivetrain upgrade

Wish I could afford a t56, I do have to be budget minded, gonna stick with the mt82 until it eventually blows 3rd gear. I'll see about that kit, might also get steel lines to improve engagement feel while at it.

    Whole Drivetrain upgrade

(14 GT mt82) Finally preparing for a Paxton centrifugal, going for 600-650whp. I'm going to do most of the work myself, starting with clutch and driveshaft. Already upgraded brakes, got an MGW shifter, and diff sorted out with new LSD and 3.75 gears. For my power goals, what clutch kit works...

Diff Gone, Time for Something Better

since you've been through all of that, what website or place do you recommend to get my parts for a whole rear-end rebuild? Preferably it came as a whole kit.

VMP blower on a larger pulley. I know I can make way more than 600, but 600 is what I'm happy with.

Diff Gone, Time for Something Better

I was looking into getting a 3.55 as this car isn't for serious competition, just a fun street build. It seems to be a good spot for both my mt82 and most tremec ratios. I've heard great things about the Eaton tru trac lsd, so I'll put that at the top of my research list. Thanks!

Diff Gone, Time for Something Better

From what I've seen in the comment bellow, 2.97 magnum with 3.73 final seems to be a good spot for 600hp. What are your thoughts on a 3.55 with a 2.97 1st gear magnum?

Diff Gone, Time for Something Better

I wish I could tell you... somehow I ate up the pinion gear. I'm equally as amazed I still have my third gear on a stock mt82, I fully expected it to grenade before my diff, but such is life. What was wrong with the 3.55 and 3.90 final ratio?

Diff Gone, Time for Something Better

I'm looking into getting a new diff for my 14 5.0 making 600whp, the one I had was the standard 3.31 ratio. I put more importance on acceleration and less on top end, so should I get a new diff with the same ratio or one with a slightly lower ratio? I still have the standard mt82, but plan on...

Planning on a Nitrous build, any ideas or tips?

Have 2014 5.0, currently FBO and tuned. My power goal is around 500-550 whp. I know a few people that run nitro, and for my power goals and budget, nitrous seems the best if done right. I'm open to other ways of hitting that power goal, too. How big of a nitro shot can a 1st gen coyote handle...

Cams/heads, or go straight for blower?

Thanks for all the advice, I'll go straight for a blower then. Do the usual, chain system, fuel system, and then blower. Ofc it's not something I'll do straight away, I want to first improve the suspension system, short throw, better clutch to handle the power, and maybe driveshaft. I'd rather...

Cams/heads, or go straight for blower?

I'm planning on doing full custom exhaust on a flex system because 85 isn't too hard to find in my area. I'll have to do some research on the different blowers from VMP, Whipple, or Edelbrock, but I wanted to do cams before putting on a blower. Will there be any issues with doing that?

Cams/heads, or go straight for blower?

I've been considering getting cams, heads, and intake for my 1st gen 5.0, but I don't know how much that'll cost. I've seen prices range from 2k for parts and labor all the way to 4k. Is it just a better idea to go straight for a blower and later get cams since I'm shooting for 650-720 whp? I...

    Tuning questions?

Thanks for all that info, that basically explains what I was confused about! I think I'll go with a canned tune as I'm running basic bolt-ons. Maybe once I get another mustang and run a supercharge on E85 I'll go with a dyno tuner.

very true, totally forgot about that important part...

    Tuning questions?

I'm not doing the tune, someone or something will do the tune to get a bit more power out of it. Stock tunes are a bit conservative. I'm doing this tune on an Ecoboost because that's what I'm stuck with for now. Those cars need a bit of a bump in power to liven it up. I brought up cobb because I...

    Tuning questions?

I'm looking into tuning my stock stang to get a little more power out - doing this for an Ecoboost. I have a few options from what I know of; I have the option of a tuning shop, email tune/custom tune, and premade access port tune like Cobb. I'm thinking about the Cobb tuner, but I'm not sure...

    Xpipe vs hpipe

From my experience, H-pipe sounds a bit deeper and gives that rumble, X-pipe is more aggressive sounding and has more rasp to it. Though the end sound depends on your cats, muffler, headers, resonator, and even the material the exhaust system is made of. Also, supercharger makes it louder and...

What have you done to your mustang today?

Installed a blow-off valve, next is a better tune. Though the sun is hot here so maybe tint is better

Choosing between the 2014 gt or 2015 gt is hard

I like that line of thinking, I definitely intend on keeping it as long as possible. A few thousand more over years makes almost no difference.

Choosing between the 2014 gt or 2015 gt is hard

I know what you're talking about, and after seeing a review of both, having them side by side, the 14 has more of a wow factor. It looks more distinct, the 550 looks more like a "sports car" while the 197 is a muscle car. Also, I think I'm leaning more to the 14 just because I can get a decked...

Choosing between the 2014 gt or 2015 gt is hard

with a 14 I do get the satisfaction of feeling that the car is customized more to my liking, it does feel more like a mustang, and I would enjoy having and driving the car more than a 15. Though, it definitely would be more of a project car to be built over the years instead of getting basically...

Choosing between the 2014 gt or 2015 gt is hard

That's something I didn't really think about. I would say a GT would have to be a weekend warrior or for meets, the gas would be too much for me. I think that's why I really like the Ecoboost, its a great daily and where it lacks in torque and power it makes up in the handling. I talked with my...

Choosing between the 2014 gt or 2015 gt is hard

Choosing between the 2014 gt or 2015 gt is hard

I recently sold my 05 GT and got myself a 2017 Ecoboost (I know, blasphemy), and after a month in that body...I'm having doubts about getting a 2014 GT. Between the 197 and 550, the 550s have better suspension, stock ride height, trans, interior, handling, saound system, engine, aerodynamics...
