    Brake booster question

I just bought an S197 brake booster and disassembled it to see if it was possible to replace rubber with delrin. I removed valve assembly and found there is NO rubber between the fork rod and the MC push rod. there is a floating piston swaged to the end of the fork rod that can swivel but has no...

    Brake booster question

I'm not sure this is correct. I've bled the system and have a rock solid pedal when applying the brakes after purging the booster vacuum. With a solid pedal the MC has displaced all the brake fluid needed to move the brake pistons against the rotors. Brake fluid is incompressible, well nearly...

    Brake booster question

have a 2011 mustang GT that came with the 2 piston Brembo Performance Package front brakes. I've upgraded the brakes to the 15" front and 13.8" rotor GT500 set up using 2018 Bullitt 6 piston Brembo's up front. Due to the larger piston area of the 6 piston Brembo's I have a longer pedal travel...

AdvanceTrac issues associated with bad Longitudinal Accelerometer data

Ford lied when it says you can turn off traction control. It is ALWAYS on in background and turns on when vehicle is outside of trigger point dynamics, like at the track. I fixed problem for track. see attached link...

    Suspension Recommendations

I am running 19x10 Apex EC-7 rims because I have Brembo 6 piston calipers where there are only a few sets of wheels that will fit over the Brembos.

    Traction Control/ABS Issues at Thunderbolt

First things first. Traction control is NEVER fully off on the Mustang regardless of whether you've turned it off or not. Secondly, stability control function applies brakes to control car direction. If accelerometers sense yaw movement beyond their programmed limits they will apply appropriate...

    Suspension Recommendations

I just spent 2 years building my 2011 GT into a track day car. I learned a lot of lessons along the way. Your BMR rear set up is fine. I went with Ford "K" springs which lowered the car 1.5" all around in combination with Koni sport shocks. Because car is lowered I went with Steeda front lower...

Planning on a Nitrous build, any ideas or tips?

I've looked into Nitrous also. Main problem with it is that unlike carburated engines the Mustang intake manifolds are designed to move air, not an air gas/nitrous mixture. Using a throttle body plate configuration the gas/Nitrous mixture has the potential to form droplets and fall out of...

    Brake bleeding questions

From my past experience, don't use speed bleeders. When opened to bleed brake line they let air into fluid so you will see air bubbles in line. You'll waste a lot fluid waiting for clean flow. Best bet is to use pressure bleeder. Works much better and you don't need a 2nd person pushing down...

When Advancetrac is turned off, is it really off?

I found problem and solution. 1) Traction control is never turned off. It operates in background and activates when certain criteria (?) are met. Ford lied in owners manual when it says Traction Control can be turned off. It's never fully off. That's why Boss 302R and S models have a different...

    Exedy clutch?

My one experience with an Exedy stage 1 clutch on my stock 2011 stock GT Coyote. It blew up first time I downshifted from high rpm and put a piece of shrapnel through my bell housing. Exedy told me to stuff it when I complained. Buy from them at your own risk.

When Advancetrac is turned off, is it really off?

I'm also an old time racer. Been doing it for 60 years. I learned to drive on track in cars without ABS. My first ABS car was an 86 Corvette and I hated the ABS. If you stood on the brakes like you used to on cars without ABS the ABS would kick in and you would overshoot your apex point. It took...

    Feels like brakes are dragging...

I've used butt connectors on most circuits on my cars. When properly crimped and insulated they work as well as soldered joints. You're more likely to have a problem with a cold solder joint then a properly installed crimp joint.

When Advancetrac is turned off, is it really off?

Good point but my incident occurred driving in a straight line rolling into the throttle. No braking.

Pinpoint suspension failure / incorrect geometries.

I beg to differ. When you lower car LCA inner pivot is below ball joint. As suspension compresses arc of ball joint travel will add positive camber

When Advancetrac is turned off, is it really off?

I just had a bad experience at the track with my 2011 GT. I always run with the Advancetrac off. After a really hard rain the concrete track surface was drying. I was first group out and was really taking it easy. On a short straight slowly rolling into the throttle while accelerating the rear...

Pinpoint suspension failure / incorrect geometries.

When you lowered your car did you correct for bump steer. If not as you turn your tires you are going into positive camber.

    Wheel & Tire Fitment

You've moved your front rims outboard about 1/2", are running 265 vs 245 tires and have lowered car 1.25". Good chance you are going to have interference with fender unless you add camber plates and 2 degrees of camber.

    Best HPDE Coyote clutch

Update on my clutch failure. After towing car back to shop and disassembling clutch we were all shocked to find out clutch disk had grenaded sending shrapnel through the bell housing. Pressure plate, flywheel, disk hub and most of the friction material were intact. One of more of thin (.041")...

    Best HPDE Coyote clutch

I have a stock engine 2011 Mustang GT that I run in HPDE events. I just installed a brand new Exedy Mach 500 stage 2 clutch that lasted less than one 20 minute track session before blowing up. To make matters worse I have an Auto Blip kit to rev match. The problem is one I've had before. The...

Low profile water outlet for 2018 intake swap

I'm having trouble getting a 2015-2017 low profile water outlet in order to install a 2018 intake manifiold on my 2011 Gen I Coyote. The part number for the water outlet is FR3Z-8592-C. Every Ford and Vendor description for this part shows it with the steam vent outlet pipe installed. When you...
