    New adventure.. Go Kart Racing

I have been there several times - we brought a few of their key staff over to help run our new track in New Orleans. (GM, Kart Director, Race Director) Wes

    New adventure.. Go Kart Racing

I know first hand that the motors were breaking at Miller because of high RPMs on the long front and back straight - 75% of the time was over 7,000 rpm. All the rods broke in the same spot. Burris is working on an upgraded rod but for the track we are racing at (http://www.nolamotor.com), this...

Did you race at Miller by chance? Emmick chassis, ~18hp YF200 motor. Wes

    New adventure.. Go Kart Racing

The picture you have is a circle kart chassis - you've got a road course chassis coming but the motor is the same - a Burris racing modified F200. The YF200 motor has a rev limiter in it to keep it from spinning to 10,000 rpm - that is like taking a stock 3v to 8,000 - I bet it will explode...

Awesome numbers, it is going to be super beast without the boost taking a nosedive - pull that sucker to 6500!

    2010 gt w/stock motor 11.09@121 on 18in nittos

Props to Kip on being able to master the Nittos and car combinations -- he is someone that I have seen can always drive a car (more than just this one) to fast ETs -- very good reflection on the skill and awareness of the driver.

    NOLA Motorsports Park Open House

As some know, last year I began working on a track build here in New Orleans, Louisiana. My focus has been on working with many other brands in addition to Fords and the tech side of racing, driver education and vehicle performance. We're having our first public track tours on Sunday, if you...

2011 Dyno'd yesterday - mail tune vs custom

Strange the car made the power it did with an WOP AFR in the 15's. Whether intentional or accidental perhaps there was something influencing the AFR data on the "before" pull? Experience raises a question at the testing method used on the dyno to judge results.

2011 Dyno'd yesterday - mail tune vs custom

Interesting it was that far off given the type of O2 sensors on the 2011.

Going to get dyno tuned this week

That's exactly it. Needs solid fuel delivery behind it before your tuner starts to push on the combo. :naughty1: Wes

I run them with as much air as you can without spinning.

Ok to run a MAFia or switch out

Datalog the MAF voltage or AD Counts and take a picture of the setup. Cannot give good advice without seeing it. Wes

Ok to run a MAFia or switch out

For the MAF I would put it in a straight run of pipe and AFTER blowoff/bypass valves. For the kit you have, the pipe pre-throttlebody is a good location. The MAF.ia on your car will work on position 3. The factory MAF works RELIABLY up to around 6.2v. * The rest of this is based on sweeping...

Ok to run a MAFia or switch out

The stock Ford MAF only outputs to 6.5v so you cannot use all the positions the MAF.ia offers. I'll leave it as an exercise using the MAF.ia instructions (on Diablo's website) to figure out what position this is. :) Stock MAF in stock housing registers about 40#/min or 1100kg/hr. Scale this by...

car went toyota on me tonight...

Check to see if your tuner disabled the Ford throttlebody failsafes! I would guarantee that most tuners do. These failsafes are what keep people from getting run over by an out of control car. A big liability on his part in court I bet. Wes

Ok to run a MAFia or switch out

I have yet to have a problem with any car running a MAF.ia (always mount them in a logical spot, not where they will get hot or vibrate). However, that being said I would rather tune a PMAS HPX/SCT BA500 (same thing) in a blow-through setup. This keeps your transient fueling tuning pretty...
