Hm, so the 2011's have factory widebands? Now THAT is badass.
JJ I wouldnt say that tailpipe sniffers are inaccurate, I dyno'd my old car a few times and every time the tailpipe sniffer was within .1-.2 of my wideband in my downpipe.

FWIW anyone that uses an SCT XCAL3 for tuning can use the new livelink 6.2 software and a laptop to see what the stock widebands are reading at all throttle settings. They will read in lambda so you will have to multiply that by 14.64 to get the actual airfuel. So if your reading .820 lambda your airfuel is 12.0

We do not use tailpipe sniffers ever when we do our custom tuning, they are innacurate for the most part. The only way is to use a wideband.

I woudl redyno the car in question again using the SCT livelink software to see what the stock widebands are seeing.

Im pretty sure that is what he was using. He had a laptop and everything to watch everything in the car. I also never saw him put anything in the tailpipe.

To make this easier, i have an email into him simply asking how he did it and i will report back with what he says.

I have an email into the company about my lean af with their tune, but they dont seem very worried about it. We originally put the car on the dyno just to do a dyno pull and see what power it put down but after he saw the AF... he offered to tune it for FREE because he was worried.

No your right, not all sniffers are innacurate, there are plenty of them that are well taken care of, calibrated and work pretty good but what I have come across in my travels doing tuning all over the country they are mostly abused and used for some quick cash pulls and dyno days and are not that good.

Interesting it was that far off given the type of O2 sensors on the 2011.

Also i really dont know much about tuning, but the way he was explaining it to me... it sounded like it was manually set to not command something until 5500ish RPM. Sorry if that is vague but i really didnt understand it.

Hufen, Im thinking maybe the 2011's since they are equipped with widebands maybe they have a commanded a/f ratio that you can make them auto adjust to. Say you command the PCM to hold a 12.0:1 a/f and the PCM reads the widebands and makes the adjustments necessary. I am not sure if this is possible with the 2011 GT but I know some other manufacturers have stuff like that.
JJ, is that a feature in the 2011 PCM?

Strange the car made the power it did with an WOP AFR in the 15's. Whether intentional or accidental perhaps there was something influencing the AFR data on the "before" pull? Experience raises a question at the testing method used on the dyno to judge results.

Exactly, specially as these cars work CL all the time.
