Have you tried to turn it out with a small tool of some sort? When the head snaps off the tension is released and it's most likely somewhat loose in the threads. I doubt it is bottomed out in threads adding tension.

A hood is not a good way to learn painting. Pay the pro and be happy. I've painted several cars and one of the biggest problems is dust/dirt in the paint since most DIYers don't have access to a booth. You can wet sand and buff but thats another skilled procedure.

The brake fluid is one fluid that most people ignore. Should be flushed every couple of years.

Very nice. 69-70 Mach's are my favorite cars. I had a 70 years ago and I kick myself for getting rid of it. I grew tried of the small block that was in my car and retro fitted a 429 into that small engine bay. Required some crazy looking headers, boss 429 mounts and an oil filter angle adapter.

The 69/70 Mustangs are the best to me,428 SCJ, Mach 1's,Boss 302, Boss 429. The designer of those cars was a genius and I doubt they will ever be matched, althought the s 197 comes close. I don't understand why Ford hasn't done a Mach 1 in the new body style, seems like a no brainer to me.

I think you'll be fine wet sanding as long as you go slow, are you using 2000 grit? Others have wet sanded/buffed brand new cars before and have had great results. Good Luck.

Get the factory installed 3.73 gears. I drove a 5.0 manual and the car hauls with that gear.
