LOL! I have that problem b/c I daily the car sometimes to work and what not.. . Hear noises...and not worry so much. Then hit a track event or Autox and hear all new noises b/c the more intense driving now lol. Used to drive me nuts.. " wtf is that noise...? " " wait..listen..turn the radio...

Which is the situation most people are in..You do not have to have a prepped car for Autocross .. most people go out there and just have fun and get some seat time..and then some, get serious about it and want to start setting the car up and compete..etc.

Agreed with most...but Corner Carving can be just as expensive.. just in different ways.. instead of spending the money upfront to be fast in drag racing you end up spending money over time to road race and what not. ( now, just autocrossing is a different situation ..thats a bit cheaper. )

In saying this, understand I do not have a 5.0, but of this entire thread - I think Chris Rose coming in here and giving his thoughts and what not is pretty stand up. I wish more tuners would come into these threads or address this issue in their own thread and get some of these issues a little...

Seen some mention Defi gauges, by far the best gauges I have ever dealt with. Running them along side of a Stand Alone and datalogging the number's were spot on.. a little on the expensive side but well worth it. Though the Nexan's are more or less the same thing... Also, best thing imo about...

Like Chris said.. i've been running a set of stock rotor's but using hawk dtc-60's front and rear and race brake fluid along with a cooling kit I had made.. those things will help regardless of the brake setup you use..

I've run Dunlop Star Spec's for road racing as well as Autox. Great tire for both applications of autocross and road racing. I think compared to the RS3, the only big difference I think is.. from the start of using the tire - I think the Dunlop's out match the rs3's. But once you start getting...

If it's the stepper motor? No the motor has to be replaced - which is costly from Ford or you can do it yourself or look on ebay and their's people who do it for like 80-90 bucks and it takes a week to send out and return..

TONS of threads on this situation.. it's the motors on the cluster that go bad. Their like 6-7 bucks a piece and if you can do it yourself if you feel up to it. Or people on ebay do it for like a 100 bucks.. search for " Stepper motor's for cluster " theirs like 10 write up's
