I'm just waiting for another "Oh shit, blown motor" thread...

OP, there's nothing against having an experienced tuner do his job on your car. Build your own motor, install it, whatever, but the tune is not the place to play around.

Well thats kind of a relief at least your not just fumbling around with the handheld, thats what it seems like you had been doing from your posts.

So you tune alot of mustangs but didn't understand the tuning required for an 05 with a larger maf housing?

This thread is starting to hurt my head more and more everytime I open it... lol

So you had a mail order tune, didnt like the power it made, so you tuned it youself but were unaware of what it takes to tune it, had issues and finally figured it out over the course of a couple weeks? I think I understand now, I hope...

I just wanted to see if others were having issues with the 05s specifically. I'm well aware that there's a lil more to it than just throwing random values around haha.

By others do you mean tuners that know what they are doing and know how to tune a 3v? In that case, no they are not having trouble and no its not becuase of the pcm in these cars that you had trouble, your issues were obviously from your inexperience tuning these cars. Hopefully you have it better figured out now if your in a position to tune other peoples cars...?

Just wanted to know if you installed the MVT, in the intake, or went with out it, Also what is the MVT size, and what is the size with out the MVT. I checked the Air Rade web site and they do not give the info.

No I didn't use the mvt sleeve. If your going to buy a cai why would u want to...other than not having to tune it?

Hard to toon when SCT doesn't give you the Value File for the mods you have done? Sounds like you need to take some classes on tuning as there are plenty of tuners that could write you a tune with just a list of what is done with the car.

P.S. I had a break in tune mailed to me that put down 660 rwhp on the dyno with no changes to it. Some guys know how to tune cars and are pretty good at it.

My question is if you knew how to tune a car to begin with why did you bother with a mail order tune to begin with? I mean I can understand someone like myself that has no intentions of learning how to tune paying someone to do the work for me. But someone who, "has a dyno jet and knows how to tune," You would think they want to start from the ground up.....
