Hi! :)

I've got a 2006 Mustang GT Premium with a power lumbar support that doesn't work.

Can anybody tell me for sure if the original part (6R3Z-6365500-A) can be replaced with part 6R3Z-6365500-B. Some online sources say yes, and some say no.

I've chatted with some parts guys at a couple of different Ford dealerships, and can't get a hard answer (but they are kind of leaning towards nnnnnnno).

If the correct answer is "no", does anybody know where I can locate an original 6R3Z-6365500-A part; or an aftermarket or re-manufactured version?

Thanks so much.

Cheers

Dan

so either try to fix the one you got , or go to a junkyard and try , or go back to old school seats ..

id try to fix the one i got , maybe its a bad switch or connector or a pinched wire?

Supposedly this place has one:

I see a couple results where 6R3Z-6365500-B supersedes "ar3z6365500a" which matches "6R3Z-6365500-A" with an extra "A" at the beginning. Tasca also lists the 2006 GT as one of the fittments for 6R3Z-6365500-B

Here're the pictures of the difference between the two. Besides the motors being moutned differently, spring bars coming off of "A" don't seem to be the same as on "B".

vs "B"

"B" with it looks like spring clips that fold out to hook into the seat frame?

I may not have as much tech background as some of the other guys here, but I can be a pretty decent parts monkey from time to time

Man, I wish you'd have put this out when I had my driver's seat out replacing the side seat plastic trim covers after getting my seats reupholstered early last year.......was right there...........:)

Just put this task on my ever-diminishing list of repairs to get done now that I see this is a fairly simple fix to the existing parts.............

Thanks again for posting this..........!
