08 Gt bent shifter or shift fork?

I had the same problem in my '05 road course car. Previous owner's shotty Hurst install trashed the shifter mount studs so he used bolts. Welded in a new tunnel section from a donor car and went with the Barton shifter. Happy ever since.

Any problems down the road and I'll install the CHE k-member brace.
