1/8" wheel spacer - can I still use OEM studs and lug nuts?

I read through the combined 15" wheel fitment thread, and I don't think I saw what I'm after - if I missed it please link it here...

I want a set of 15" Weld RT-S wheels for my car, but I'm not a fan of the way the medium pad wheels stick out from the fender on the front.

I measured my brake caliper distance from the face of the rotor (early '05 build) and came up with 13/16" (0.8125"). I know the low pad version w/2.5" backspace has 0.89" clearance. If I try these wheels with a 1/8" spacer, can I still use my OEM studs and lug nuts? Any concerns I should be aware of?

I ordered a set of maximum motorsports 1/8" wheel spacers last night, and per the instructions so long as I have at least six full turns of the lug on the stud w/spacer I'm good (install sheet says most mustangs can take up to 1/4" spacer with OEM studs).

I plan to order one low pad 15" wheel in the next day or so and give it a go, if it works I'll order the second wheel and tires and be done with it...

I have the medium pad Weld RTS wheels and had to take the grinder to my front calipers slightly. It's not the front edge that rubs but the top of the caliper slightly rubbing the inside of the wheel. Any stick on balancing weights need to be placed with care or else they will be sheared off from hitting the caliper.

thanks skwerl - would be interested in any pics you have showing the clearance between the spoke of the wheel and your brake calipers (as well as how much you had to remove to clear the inside of the wheel).

The factory calipers are painted and looked like crap after I ground them, so I picked up a can of high heat paint in gray and repainted them. Was a fun, quick little project that took about an hour or two on a pleasant afternoon.
