I was just looking over the rules for the 10.99 and quicker cars. I was wondering how many people actually have a SFI approved flex plate, balancer and automatic trans blanket or shield?

You left out SFI approved axles and positive axle retention device.

I have the axles, and I am going to get the balancer, but nothing else.

I was asked in tech about a trans shield or blanket, so some tracks will be checking. I like the shield better as I would think the blanket would hold in alot of heat.

Does anyone make a trans shield for our 5R55s?

That's BS! Just like the wheel manufactures not many making 15" wheels for the car. Our cars are popular, company's could sell these products. Hopefully the tracks don't check the cars over for all the items. I don't think the track would on a test and tune night. I am more concerned about racing events.

You can use a universal blanket. I wouldn't use it for a street car. Too much heat retention on the street. Track use is no problem as long as you have a good cooler.

Yep - the trans shield/blanket - is the only piece of the rules I do not have and it's exactly for the reason SD said - can't find one.

Other than that, I'm all legal. Not because I like to follow the rules, but because I like to stay alive...

Also, I noticed on Bandimere's site it says the following:

10.99 seconds or Super Street
- SFI Transmission Shield, or at 135 mph - Aftermarket axles

I am guessing that is incorrect? I have read most of you state several times that you have to have the axles @ 10.99 or faster, not once you hit 135 MPH.

Thanks again!

Its one or the other or both. I suppose there are some cars out there that run 135+ mph but run perhaps a 11.XX. That would be sad to say the least, but I suppose its possible. In that case, the rules still apply.

I have the flex plate and balancer. I use to run a blanket on the red car but at true street the thing was get SOOO hot.

There has been so much calling for SFI crank pullies stock and overdrive and underdrive, that I got my dealership and started selling them. They will be added to the site soon but I have sold a bunch already so they must have started looking for it because for years no one has even asked about a crank pulley in the tech line..
