Well, what a great flipping time! I have been excited to see what this S/C would do for me, turns out a driver counts for a lot too... LOL. I am a manual, and I will say launch is almost everything. Ran 6 times, was about 65 degrees.

Tracks website stated 13.49 or faster verts needed rollbars, when I got there the tech inspect guy sticks head in and says, no rollbar huh? I play dumb (not hard for me) and say what's that mean. He says verts 13.99 and faster need bar, what will this do. I say no idea, first time ever. He says well you may be asked to not run again if too fast... As you can see below, all runs were faster, and never had a second look. My son siad even on one run the announcer made a comment about the nice shakerhood on that convertible :)

Anyway, launches completely sucked first three runs, I told my son I know this car is easily in the 12's with a driver, I am not making it happen.

Ok, on to the times.

Run #1

Reaction: .4360
60 foot: 2.3638
1/8 mile ET: 8.8110
1/8 mile MPH: 86.01
1/4 mile ET: 13.3040
1/4 mile MPH: 110.86

Run #2

Reaction: .6679
60 foot: 2.1630
1/8 mile ET: 8.6500
1/8 mile MPH: 84.90
1/4 mile ET: 13.2341
1/4 mile MPH: 103.89

Run #3

Reaction: .7849
60 foot: 2.1690
1/8 mile ET: 8.7449
1/8 mile MPH: 85.90
1/4 mile ET: 13.2871
1/4 mile MPH: 108.95

Run #4

Hold it, gotta wait for the best one.... no skipping down :)

Run #5

Reaction: .5209
60 foot: 2.2321
1/8 mile ET: 8.8450
1/8 mile MPH: 84.77
1/4 mile ET: 13.4139
1/4 mile MPH: 108.17

Run #6

Reaction: .4359
60 foot: 2.1750
1/8 mile ET: 8.5759
1/8 mile MPH: 86.74
1/4 mile ET: 13.1022
1/4 mile MPH: 109.43

OK, and now my best....basically the only launch that fest good, as soon as I hit second I had a smile on my face because I knew it was good (at least for me). And remember Nitto 555 street tires, no adjustment made to pressure.

Run # 4

Reaction: .5940
60 foot: 1.9079
1/8 mile ET: 8.1780
1/8 mile MPH: 87.03
1/4 mile ET: 12.6599
1/4 mile MPH: 110.52

Brenspeed car
.4330
2.2021
8.4579
89.63
12.8151
113.00

Oh, and I ran this run against one of the Brenspeed guys, they had about 8 cars there I think. Now, I beat him on every number (barely) except 1/4 mile speed, he had me by 2.5 mph, and the slip gave him the win by .0058.... can't figure that one out, anyone???? All the other slips seem to be correct for a 1/4 winner.

Ok, how did I do compared to you guys? Regardless, had a blast.

How much boost are you running?

Also if you want to see how you are comparing to similar cars you can find all the info in the dragstrip section 1/4 mile database.

Wait and see what a little practice
and tire pressure will bring you soon.

altittle line-loc can go a long way :thumb:

Other comments.

When I told Dave of Brenspeed my best time, he said beats him with his Techco s/c, and I noticed he had drag radials. Don't know anything else, just thought that was interesting

Beat some subaru by just short of a full second, no idea what it was or had under the hood.

The last run sucked, next to a rail that ran like 5 seconds quicker, talk about making you feel slow.

Talked to a guy in a newer C06, told me I barely beat his best, but he was having trouble hooking too.

Let anyone brag about HP, but this experience tells me skill can overcome power, at least to an extent.

Oh, and with my 4.10's I was almost running out of 4th gear by the 1/4 mile. Aren't some of you guys not even shifting into 4th???

Yea, no line locks, just did a 5 second or so 2nd gear burnout

I have no idea what pully or s/c he was running, you mean the brenspeed car right?

Thanks for the fast shipping!

lol, excellent! Dont do too much, but enough
to enjoy each time you go.The lie-loc could
help @ the tree,for a better launch. A tenth
you gain in the 60' is around .2 on the top end.

Uhh..ok,it was a Techco..hmm..interesting :thumb:

what tree were you guys running under? pro?

What dia tire are you running? There is no way you should be out of gear at 110 mph. Even with a 26" tire, you should be good for ~120mph at 6400rpm. Mine has gone 132+ in the traps with 4.10s and a 28" tire.

Tire is 275/45 x 19, and a calc website translates to 26.66..... so I guys I am perplexed considering I am in between a couple of your sizes. When I saw mine compared to don, I thought it was due to smaller tire, but I am a touch taller than stkjock. No way I could get to 120 in 4th.

where are you rev'ing the motor to? with that set up this is where you should be:

6000 rpm = 116
6500 rpm = 125

So I dont get how your running out of gear

+1... I'm coming up with the same numbers for a 26.66" tire.

Is there any chance the clutch is slipping?

Your times and mph are very close to mine from last year when I went for the first time in the car..With the cams in, DR's, rear suspension upgrades and another dyno tune with the shift points worked out, I am hoping for low 12's and possibly an 11 second pass..May 6th cant come soon enough..

Maybe we are close.... When I said running out I meant... I looked at rpm's which redline reads at 6000, and was about 5700-5800. And I think Brenspeed said they set the rev limiter at 6600 or so, so I guess I wasn't as close as I thought. Sound closer to your observations?

Oh, couple of vids... I be the red one.

2nd trip to the strip, had a couple friends take cars this time. Last time my best was 12.65 with an average of 13.17, bad reaction & 60 ft avg of .5733 & 2.1685.

With my apparently old and slow reflexes, this time I went hammer down on the last yellow and never red lighted. Better results, with my best being .1969 . avg closer to .2818.

But still not the best 60 ft times, best was 1.9101 and avg 2.0060.... just can't get out of hole without spinning on darn street tires (275 Nitto 555). Best 1/4 this time was 12.83, with avg of 12.98. Oh, and dropped tire pressure to about 20, but it was also about 15 degrees warmer than first time.

Would really like to find some DR's, but don't want to spend bunch a money turning into a drag car as it is my sunshine weekend car, but would sure like to see some better times, kinda embarrassing running this high with a supercharger. Seems like have seen slightly modded NA GT's running hi 12's

Anyway after my buddy got the feel of running his 70 Challenger and run a couple 12.9's (built big block, I don't know the details but he thinks around 400+ at wheels, auto tranny) he said lets go, bet you a beer. Beat him by .6821 first run and the rematch was only by .2010. He owes me 2 LARGE beers, can't wait to meet up on our normal Thursday night gathering LOL!

Very close 2nd run with him: I think he was just intimidated by the Mustang LOL

Me him
.3630 react .3519
2.0250 60 ft 2.1199
8.3667 1/8 et 8.4879
87.07 1/8 mph 85.08
12.8991 1/4 et 13.1112
108.92 1/4 mph 106.30

The 71 Boss was stock and a manual tranny, best he managed was hi 14's

What is the best deal I could find on a set of DR's? Would it worth buying used, how many runs can you get out of them?

You can plug in your tuner and see where they set your redline at as well...I did that to see what mine was set at with my Brenspeed tune (6800).

If it's just a "sunshine weekend" car, then DRs will do great for you. You can run them on the road, to the track, and then home again.

I really like my M&H DR's. Things hook really well. Im an auto car, same basic set up as you. Saleen, 7psi. 12.01 is my best so far, SD ran a 11.99 in it. Plenty of guys run the ET Streets too.
