I've had 2 2 post lift. A full size one at my old house and a max jax at the current house. A 4 post is useless to me for my transaxle cars. Can't drop a transaxle on a 4 post.

I can't live without one now. Once you have a lift you will wonder how you lived without one.

I agree with those who say two post. The only difference from Unreal's post is i would get this style http://www.bendpak.com/car-lifts/two-post-lifts/ if it will fit. Putting the cables overhead keeps them dry and keeps the debris out. Also, if you have to push a car into the lift area, you don't have to push over a bump.
Also, make sure your concrete floor is thick enough.

Agreed if you have room overhead cables are best.

Also make sure you don't have a post tension slab, as that makes it very tricky to install too.

I had a two post lift put in my shop last year, and I don't know how I ever lived without one. I have yet to do anything that I needed a four post lift for.

Hydraulically equalizing.
Originally wanted the 4 post for convenience and the option of storing another vehicle if necessary.
But you can store a vehicle on a 2 post and I am willing to dig and pour concrete if I have to.

Actually what would be sweet would be tire rails that could be installed on 2 post foot pads, so have drive on for storage or loaded suspension work but then remove the rails for standard 2 post type work. I know they have rail jacks for 4 posts, but that leaves the tire rails in the way for working underneath

Im going to be buying a max jack lift here soon just wasnt sure how good they are But think im going to give it a try!!!

They are fine for what they are. Work good, but they are not a full size lift. They do have their drawbacks.

Make sure to check your concrete, and I would call them for install tips as their instructions suck and don't cover everything properly. Landed up costing me a few hundred bucks to fix the install because of their crap instructions.

My buddy and I did the suspension on a 69 Corvette on our lift. That car was on the lift for about 6 months.

They have adapters for lifting by the tires. My buddy found a set for our lift. I didn't look at the price though.

I just installed a 4 post Bendpack lift in my garage and its awesome. I am using it for storage so it very important that you use a lift that supports a car by the tires. You should never store a non framed car on a 2 post for a length of time.

2-post. If you need to do something that requires loading the suspension, just use some Rhino Ramps. EVERYTHING else can be done easier on a 2-post. And you can access the entire underside of the vehicle when it's in the air without having to worry about the 4-post's "platforms" getting in the way.

Get a couple sheets of plywood and stick them on the ground at your 2-post. Then you don't have to worry about fitting the arms under the frame.

I've stored my car on jacks every winter since new, tires off.
No ill effects noticed yet.

what did u mess up that wasnt in the instructions?

The instructions for the anchors is all wrong and leaves a lot out. Best to call them or get instructions from wedjeit instead of their instructions. Had 3/5 ancors on one side not set because they had old outdated instructions that left out some vital info.

I have a 4 post with a rolling jack and low rise aluminium drive on ramps. My 2011 is lowered and no problems driving it on. It's quicker to get the car in the air with a 4 post. The rolling jack allows me to raise one end of the car. The only issue is that sometimes the rails (ramp) get in the way when working close to the wheels although it's easy to just raise the car off the ramp with the rolling jack.
