Did some searching and found a couple threads, but not much updated info. Is anyone using, or used, a 2 step with their auto. I can footbrake my converter to about 2,400 rpm's now, but thats it. Is it worth it for me to get one? Thanks..

Not really worth while for your setup. If you had a transbrake, a very loose convertor, and were bracket racing and trying to be consistent it might be a good option. In addition they are somewhat hard on a car with full exhaust as the backfiring will tend to destroy your mufflers. Just my 2 cents and opinion from my experience.

WOTBOX on an auto???

What torque converter do you have? I dont foot brake my PI anymore - i get better and more consistent launches with my PI converter and flashing it. I just hold the RPM around 1500 to get the converter spinning, then floor it at the third yellow. The car doesnt move until i hit my stall speed.

I'm curious as well because every WOTBOX I've seen has been install on a manual trans car.

My question would be where does the wire that normally goes to the clutch switch go? Install your own switch perhaps?

Do you rev the car to the desired RPM using the WOTBOX then slam the auto into gear to launch??

I'm really curious how someone would get it to work.

I mean, it would be useful if I can get my auto's launch rpm above my converter stall, but if not, flashing the converter has been working really well for me.

I have a PTC re-worked stocker that has about a 3,000 stall. I can foot brake it to about 2,300 rpms..I have done that as well..Brake it to about 1,500 rpm's or so, and then floor it. But I still want it to leave harder..
what u need is my lining you up again on a good prepped track lol:beerchug2:

Hell ya..:beerdrink:

Do tell..:beerchug2:..I need something to help my 60 ft. Aside from not spinning, it doesnt hit hard out of the hole..

Just buy a real convertor and be done with it. I foot brake my Circle D to around 3400 it flashes to 4100 and with nothing more than a set of 295/45/17 MT drag radials I see consistent 1.58 - 1.59 60' times. A two step will not help your 60' times, your convertor isn't going to stall any than it does now. If you could footbrake your car to 3500 (looser convertor) you would already be in boost and when you go WOT it will accelerate much quicker.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. Was searching for info on PTC convertors again. But i seen the question about 2-step with an automatic. Basically i wired min into the brake light switch. It works fine and i can leave on the wood thus eliminating the drive by wire hesitation.
