2 step wiring

Hey I’ve tried searching but come up empty getting this to work...
got a 06’ GT that I’m trying to wire up a MSD 2 step up to the clutch switch to activate and I’m at a loss how to get this thing to work with the clutch depressed... can anyone give me some guidance?

I believe most others (me included) are using a reed switch. Lot's of threads on that in the forum.

On my last race car [road racing] I used a relay that latched to stay on. The latching wire was connected in series with a switch on the clutch pedal.
The two step [Launch control] also was connected parallel with a line lock because the start line at my local track was down hill [and roll out ,disqualification was a problem]

At the start line, I pushed the button to activate the relay with my foot on the clutch and other foot on the brakes
Then I could release the brakes, and hold my foot on the gas [the line lock held the car]

You can release the button as long as the clutch pedal is still down .

once the clutch is released, you need to push the button again to activate the launch control / line lock

Thanks! I think I will try this! I bought some magnetic switches like I’ve seen others use but finding a way to mount them that I like hasn’t worked out...

I also wired this relay in my friends street car for drag racing. His was an automatic.
Instead of the clutch pedal, we used another brake light switch on the brake pedal.

Everybody thought he was foot brake launching at the start line.[because of the brake lights]

In NZ the "Almighty wise ones" have banned delay boxes, so we added a cheap adjustable delay relay into the Latching circuit.

If he launched just using the button [no foot brake] there was no delay. This always passed tech inspection.
But using the brake pedal to hold, the delay process activated the launch .

I’m also installing an MSD 2 step in my 2010 GT. I had no trouble finding the blue wire with orange stripe on the clutch switch and it does ground when activated. I am going to intersect this wire in the engine bay rather than taping into it under the dash. Just need to find it at the PCM connector.

Success with the easy 2 step install. Picked up the blue wire with a orange stripe at the PCM and taped in a few inches from the plug. Easy to mount the MSD box right next to the fuse box. Clean, no mess and wire loom reaches the engine without stress. Best of all; it works.
