Hey guys so I have a pretty much bone stock 2007 GT automatic with Thrush axlebacks. I bought a used Airaid Race cold air intake that I couldn't pass up on so I'm looking to buy an SF4/X4 tuner to be able to install the intake.

I have a question about tuning though. I've noticed in my S197, when I rev it up in neutral, anything higher than 2500ish rpms takes forever to drop back down to idle which is a strange feeling coming from a Sn95 Cobra that would drop somewhat quickly. I thought something was wrong with the car but I was told later that this is just how these cars are tuned and that this feature can be tuned out to drop rpms in a faster manner.

I know a lot of guys don't like Bama, but I had their tune on my Cobra for years with no issues and I don't plan on doing any further performance mods to this GT for awhile so they're the best bang for my buck imo. Is this a common nuisance that S197 guys have altered that I could have Bama do with a tune or is there no way to change it? I really don't like revving the car up at all for friends, family, etc because they all tell me something is wrong with it and that the throttle body needs to be cleaned lol (which I'm sure it does, I just haven't had time to do it yet).

Here's a video of my car for reference

the tune has a "dashpot" setting that controls how the RPM degradation happens. Yes it can get tuned differently if one wanted.

Keep in mind, these cars have a electronic motor for the TB, not a cable like you're used to in the SN94. There is some, albeit small, lag between TB and pedal.

Yeah it took me a little while to get use to the throttle but I do let completely off the pedal after revs. Would the dashpot setting be something I have to let Bama know I want altered or could I do it myself once I get the X4? I know they have quite a lot of new features compared to the old X3 I use to have

they would have to do it, it's not adjustable with the handheld, but you would likely want to get their tune first and see how it is. then ask for a update if needed.
