Hey all, trying to see what ideas I can get. My mustang has overheated twice in the last 6 months. I changed the water pump, radiator and thermostat, But it’s still slowly leaking coolant. Is there something specific with these 4.6s I should be looking for? Before everyone says it. No it’s not the head gaskets. New here. Thanks.

Check all the hoses and clamps for any obvious leaks or for deposits of yellowish crusts which would indicate a slow leak. When there's nothing obvious, look into the valley of the engine underneath the intake manifold. You'll see a heater hose assembly, and the commonest leak point is the plastic 90 degree elbow where it's crimped to the hose. If the leak is quite big, coolant can trickle to the back of the engine and down towards the bell housing.
Another possible source of a coolant leak is the radiator itself, especially where the plastic side tanks are joined to the aluminium core.

Heater core too… a good pressure test will reveal if the system has a leak.
