will it work if i get a 2010 ecu and harness in my 06? I was told it is year specific but if i change both i dont see the difference. Are the engine harnesses even different? Can i just get the harness and then buy a 06 ecu if the 2010 ecu wont work?

Engine harness will be different on a few connections. There's a difference in '05 and '07 so I'm sure there will definitely be a difference

I mistyped.

In 2007 Ford made a lot of changes. So your 2010 ecu and harness will NOT work in an 06 with out a little work.

in '07+ vs '06, there are BEC-to-ECU and power-to-ecu wiring differences as well.
I looked into it when doing my v8 swap. Even having the engine harness, ecu, and bec from an '07 to put in my '05, there was still going to be compatibility issues.
