That's sad news Tucker, good luck finding this intake's application niche. :)

Just tested on a car making 340 and it didn't makes any change. :damnit:
It needs big cams to help.

The kit will not be released until we find the combo or power range it's good for.

Thanks
Jay

I don't understand how the 110 jlt makes power on a stock 2010 and not on 05-09. The engines are the same right. Unless they don't make power on a 2010 either? oh well?

Look in the 2010 forum and you will see how his kit did on my 2010 GT....20hp/20tq with a tune.

I think it would make 20hp 20tq on any 4.6 mustang with a tune. I think we were all looking at the 110mmJLT -vs- 95mm C&L or other comparable cold air intakes.

oh ok I was looking into this the wrong way. So on a stock car they are all somewhat the same with a tune.

I heard they make less HP on the 2010's because they start off life with more HP and different timings and a bigger MAF. so the 20-25hp we (05-09) usually get from a C&L intake and a tune is now something like 10-12 on the 2010. just what i have been reading. and monster maf's aren't always better for stock engines who can't come near what they flow anyway.

Jay will chime in but I am positive the MAF is bigger on the 2010 as the stock MAF on the 2010 was bigger than the 05-09's so JLT had to go bigger....plus the hp from the factory was increased by 15 so the bigger gains the 05-09's were seeing with a CAI/tune are offset by the increase of hp on the 2010's from the factory.

Is this the C&L intake manifold thread? Oh, shit, seems like it. Lots of talk about #'s that are not being produced or verified.

WHAT??? The C&L Intake does makes power. I personally dynoed my own car and my C&L Intake picked up 7 peak rwhp and 10 rwhp at 5700 rpms. So thats pretty good power considering my car is stock with just bolt-ons.

110mm, the 101mm was a size we tested first and are not using.

Thank you

Thanks, that's how we do it. It's too easy to be proven wrong on hp claims.

Bingo! We "could" market this to any 05-up 4.6 and it would work, but the regular JLT makes the same power and is cheaper so why do it? I guess we could for those who want carbon fiber or the nice color matched kit, but we'll see.
Bottom Line...Is it worth getting for the 05-08 4.6L's or not?
Were in the testing stages, this is what this thread is all about.

Wait a minute, I really am not saying the C&L doesn't make power. I am just saying this thread feels similar to the C&L stuff that has taken well over a year, started out as a 30+ hp mod, never any specific #'s or testing reveiled to us until now, only to find 7-10hp gained on what, 1 car? Maybe 2.
I guess my point is that the testing should be completed with documented results prior to hyping and promoting a product with inaccurate #'s and claims. Especially on an otherwise stock + bolt on car which is 95% of the market. This thread turned for the better with Tucker's findings and honesty about the product. Again... Kudos to you Tucker.
Now, that being said I personally believe that the 110mm maf and the C&L intake will make more sense and much more power for the niche market like myself.

Spending $799 (MSRP) to get 7-10 rwhp at the top of the rpm band does not sound like a good investment to me. $80-100 per hp is pretty steep. But you are correct, it does make power.

C&L Racer vs 110mm jlt on an 05-09 would tell the story!
