My driver seat developed a hotspot about 2 years ago. The car is rarely driven in the winter time. I figured it's a broken heating element/wire in the seat so I just stopped using it.
I tried turning it on today and it doesn't seem to heat up at all, so I'm assuming at this point there's a complete break.
1. How difficult is it to change out the heating element in the seat? Is it just a matter of removing the seat removing the leather and then unplug and plug in a new one?
2. Being that there's a hotspot, is that the most likely culprit?
3. I tried searching but didn't find much. Has anyone actually done this repair?
4. Does anyone know the part number for the seat heating element? Is that even what it's called?
Thanks,
Jim
