We are going to look at an '11 or '12 GT this week. I was wondering what you would have done different with regards to options if you could go back. I am really wondering about the Brembo brakes. I have heard there are a lot of wheels that won't work with the bigger brakes. I am difinitely getting a manual. Probably a Grabber Blue or Racing Red. Let me know.

I love my brembo's, and the heated leather seats. I wish I spent a few more bucks for the gtcs though I love that look

I'm not sold on the brembo package. It is one of the novelty options for the semiserious guy. If you are really into tracking the car i'm sure the brakes would be upgraded far better than the brembo option ford has to offer stock. As far as anything else, i just wish my car had sync. Other than that, i am pleased. I hate having to do a crab-walk to get into a leather car on a hot alabama summer day. The cloth suits me just fine.

400a, "gt premium", gets you everything you need, except brembo/19" wheels.
If you're picky, just order the car, it's fun waiting for it to be built

Ya, I agree. We have ordered many new cars before so we know the feeling.

Now for an update; she says I can get any Mustang I want. Man, Boss 302, GT500, what to get? It will be a coupe as we already have a 'vert and will keep it. Can't wait to test drive them!!!

Don't I have a great wife?

400A was the option I got and don't regret a thing. The heated seats are awesome...even in TX! Don't really use the sync because its not a daily driver but its a great option.

I ordered mine as simple as it gets. Kind of like an old school LX fox body. Looking at the price on the parts for a so called upgrade "package" just didnt set well with me.

Most of what is going to come on the car, is quickly going to come off for far better upgrades. Wheels, brakes, interior and so on. I simply walked in and asked for a stripped model 2012. White in color with black cloth interior and a 6 speed manual.

8 more weeks, but who is counting?

I ordered the Brembo Package, but am not really enjoying the incredibly rough ride. Oh, it's great in the twisties, but it is such a jarring ride everywhere else. My '07 GT rode much softer (and it didn't handle nearly as well, accordingly). I hate to wuss out, but when it's time to replace the tires, I'll be buying touring type, all season tires in a higher profile. The hard, low profile Pirelli PZero's just highlight how old I'm getting!

Other than ride comfort, I wouldn't change anything about how I ordered my 5.0L.

I've got a 2011 GT with the 400a package. Hid's and rearview camera as well. I wish I would have gotten the Brembo package. There are plenty of wheels that fit over the Brembo's and even more that fit with a small wheel spacer. The RTR's fit right out of the box and are an awesome choice for a wheel. I wish I also would have gone with an auto trans. Having the manual makes the center cup holders worthless for holding drinks. Also, with a good after market tune, the Auto shifts great and will smoke most of the people out there with a 6m. Make sure you also get the gears you want. I went with the 3.55's because I plan on adding F/I later on. But 3.73 would be just as good a call.

I got the 300a only two options was brembo package, and 3.73 gears.
its a weekend car don't need all the bs ill never use. All that just makes the car heaver. As far as wheels go I liked the brembo wheels, and any wheel that will fit on the boss or gt 500 will fit a brembo car. They have the same brakes. The brembo car also has a different spring rate, and tighter steering ratio. All in all its what u want, I just couldent see spending ten grand more for stuff I would never use.
if you will use the backup camera, get it, if you will use sync get it. So on and so on.
Eather way goood luck with your purcase im shure you'll love it just the same.oh and as far as manual vs auto, they run about the same, no gear options with auto thugh.. I have seen people at the track run these cars in the 15s with the manual, those are the people who should have got the auto...lol...
