Working as a firefighter for several years I have seen a boatload of car fires. 95% of them started in the engine compartment and take a pretty decent amount of time to spread into the passenger compartment. From the looks of it, your engine compartment didn't burn for a considerable amount of time.

Your front tires aren't blown (at least from the looks of it), bumper is in tact, etc. Tires typically go quickly and it looks as if the passenger compartment burned for a really long time. Sorry for the loss and the other complications of insurance, but I would certainly make sure to follow up with the fire department to ensure you get an idea of why it started- looks like vandalism to me, which unfortunately isn't great news.

^^^This

A good fire inspector will be able to pin point exactly where the fire was started. This will shed light on the possibility of vandalism vs. some strange phenom occurance which is highly unlikely.

I think you're screwed eitherway if you don't have insurance.

Honestly i think the fire started in the cabin also and made its way forward. Thanks for converting the videos and posting up the articles guys that's exactly what i needed and why i posted here for help.

Tomorrow im calling the fire chief and i will let him know of everything i have gathered so far so we can take it up to ford, question, would i have to go through the dealer first before getting to Ford?

I've emailed the two videos to you. If you happen to find different ones, let me know by posting a link here or PM'ing me the link. I'll get it downloaded, converted and emailed to you.

Thanks for the help guys, the fire chief is coming by today in the afternoon to take a look at this thread and to print out everything on it and also to see the videos. I also started a thread in the mustangforums since someone over there had the same problem as me. Hopefully i can get the ball rolling quick.

If its a manufacture defect by NO MEANS should you consider making a claim with your insurance, actually some insurance companies won't even pay up if its a manufacture defect. Thats why FORD has insurance, for issues like this. I never knew that 34k would get me dangerous ticking bomb.

You sure sound confident that this is a defect. It will take testimony from your fire department to get Ford to even look into it as a defect. If the fire was due to vandalism or a non-Ford electric component (like your radar detector or an aftermarket stereo installation, etc) then.... well, that's what insurance is for.

I really hope that things go your way, but you need to be realistic. It is going to take a long time!!!!!!!! You may end up in a Class Action Suite. That is what i did and it took me 16 YEARS to get my money. I can not give details( part of settlement ). You are going to need some kind of transportation, You need to talk to a Lawyer about the lack of insurance. The sooner you reach an agreement with the lender the better. By the way, I left the link about the new car on the Dealer lot burning, it is a valid example, the mods on those cars are approved by Ford and carry Ford Warranty, It is only post title mods that are not covered.

Yeah man...I'm sorry this is not good news but I know a girl who's house burned to the ground due to their Ford catching on fire in the middle of the night in their garage. Pretty sure they got nothing from Ford because the law suit would have been too stressful for the family as is. They had homeowners insurance though...

It is so difficult to prove that a defect in a car causes a fire when the car is gutted. The women that SEER knew had a tought time, and her car fire was put out quickly and you could easly see were the fire started.

If there was anything plugged in to your cig lighter, or any electronics in your car, you're SOL. It also appears to me the fire started inside the car.

I bought this '03 Cobra shell that had an interior fire as well (not Ford's fault, owner was welding a safety loop to the floor pan).

If you're going to sound half as arrogant as you do right now, honestly my dude, take some god damn grammar classes. I won't even sit here and argue with you, after all, this is a god damn forum and i'm used to people like youtalking shit instead of being helpful. Do us all a favor, if you have nothing positive to say just don't fucking reply. If you would have half a brain, or shit, maybe a quarter brain you would have the common sense to read and understand why my insurance lapsed. Either way i posted about a 5.0 catching on fire, i didn't post asking your for your stupid input on my insurance lapsing. People like you screw shit up for everyone else on this board, i'm working my ass off to see how the hell this shit started and your here being a smart fuck? I hope your shit burns with you in it as your driving and fall of a hill drowning in hell with the devil. I'm done with you, from here on out any reply from your jit ass will be ignored by me.

So aren't you going to show this thread to your fire chief?

Thanks for the help guys, the fire chief is coming by today in the afternoon to take a look at this thread and to print out everything on it and also to see the videos.
