2012 rear gear opinions

Running a bolt on car with juice. What gear would you guys recommend.I had 4.10's in my 05 that I sprayed too. Just dont know if 4.10 are big enough or go with 4.30. Right now when spaying at the track I just barely have to shift to 5th.

Any comments or recommendations. This is mainly a weekend/track car.

I wouldnt go past 3.73s on the MT82..esp with power adders.

I ran 3.73 with nitrous, ran like a dream. I sprayed right off the launch too.

I run 3.73s and it runs great NA. I personally think 4.10's are getting a bit too steep and would wind up too quick.

I think if your nitrous kit would have worked as advertised the 3.73's would have been too much gear. Remember your car never made it out of the 11's.

But it still did 1.45 60's, so it was still getting a decent shot out of the hole.

3.73 would require a 5th gear shift at about 124 mph

Post 28 has the comparison of the old 5psd with various rear end ratios and the new 6spd with 3.31/3.55/3.73s. The 6spd with 3.73s is nearly equivalent to the 5spd with 4.10s in first and 4.56s from 2-4th
