It's interesting that it's been the previous mustang sounds better than the next.
The old 5.0 sounds better than the 4.6 2v which sounds better than the 4.6 3v which sounds better than the new 5.0.
To my ears the new 5.0 sounds like a "fast buzz" when it's revving up. 0:43-44 in the vid above is the "fast buzz" thing that all the new 5.0's do.
The 3v sounds like a deeper growl/scream.
The 2v sounds like a hungry lion or some shit it's the nicest to my ears!
It's a conspiracy!

Distinctive? Yes. Downfall? No. Hell the sound was the first thing that got my attention when Ford put out the first commercials for the 5.0. You can hear that baby breathin up top.

Maybe my hearing is off, but the 2013 GT I drove two weekends ago DEFINITELY sounded more aggressive and growled quite a bit more in stock trim than my 3v stock. My 3v stock sounded like any other car before I cammed it and put full exhaust to bring out the bark. The 4V Coyote in stock form, at least the maual transmissiion one, had a DEEP growl stock either idling or cruising that I can't wait to get my hands on with a full exhaust!!!

I had to actually drive my '07 that same weekend to see if what I thought was true was indeed true and sure enough, it takes my '07's cams and exhaust to equal the Coyote in stock.

I'm not saying I couldn't keep my '07 and be happy, but I would HAVE to leave the cams/exhaust on it to continue to make me happy. 3V stock sound = teh SUCK!!!!!! No way would/could I own one without LT's/cams now.

My $0.02 anyway.
