2014 front sway bar swap

I've searched but not found an answer to this:

Is it actually necessary to loosen two crossmember brace nuts, and remove six crossmember bolts and the crossmember brace in order to remove the front swaybar?

I'm looking at some explicit instructions in the 2013 shop manual, and it seems pretty clear in there (assuming there's not much change in this area from 2013 to 2014).

That 'cross member' is more of a brace and removing it helps in removing and installing the sway bar so, yes, you need to do this. Don't worry about anything else being affected by it's removal, just remember to put it back in. This pic is without this brace installed with the new sway bar in.
