SEMA 2012!

I don't care what suspension it has as long as the whole car is lighter. Aftermarket companies can improve the suspension. But dropping 500# off the curb weight without stripping the car of its amenities is nearly impossible.

There is a lot of paneling on the car that is still steel and doesn't need to be. The roof, doors, front quarter panels, trunk, etc that can all be aluminum or some other lighter material. There is a ton of weight in the suspension and the wheels and tires. Stuff on the interior as well. 500 might be a stretch but I can easily see 250-300 off the car in those areas. Especially if a turbo 4 is going in the base model.

were not getting that in a 35k pricetag.

dealer or special code options, mabey. but for the GT most will buy that would push up the pricetag to far.

manufacturers have come quite a way in dialing in the content of the steel just right, but I don't think we will be seeing any super leaps and bounds any time soon.

also remeber, our hood is already aluminum......

I think you're looking at a mule...the 2015 Mustang is widely reported to be a whole new design...that looks like a 2013 body to me. See all those buttons? Ford has been going to a touch screen/voice activated interface...that's not what that interior looks like. I would pay more attention to the engine and underpinnings (like the IRS, which was inevitable).

i can tell you went straight to the pictures and didn't bother reading the article before hand...it clearly says that dont worry about the exterior because they put a 2013 body on the chassis just to test it out.

and if that's what the interior is going to look like, i want out.
