I just see bigger brakes and halogen headlights. Hope they don't take back the factory HID. I plan on keeping the 13 anyways.

Those side windows look an awful lot like the S197's. Makes me wonder if it's really the new chassis.

I just hope the exhaust tips make it to production, they are SWEET!

I had a chance to crawl around under the test mule last week. Sorry no pics, I had to check my phones before I went in to where it was.

The chassis is 100% new. There is nothing S197 about it as far as I can tell. And the suspension is completely different, front and rear.

The new bodywork is not under those “cloaking devices”. It’s a miss-mash of current stuff….and other junk. So there is no telling how it will really look come production time. The front and rear overhangs will be shorter than the current car though. Quite a bit shorter. Looks like the track width is slightly wider too.

I find it very unlikely that there will be any real spy shots of the body work until it is released/ready to be released. Ford is not screwing around with keeping things hush, hush. I know/have met a lot of people on the S550 (that’s the new chassis code) project and none of them knows what it will look like.

Can you tell us if the front is still a strut setup? I really hope not... It would be nice if it wasn't...

They are struts. But with a goofy double ball joint setup. Nothing like on the car now.

This was my guess.. I really see see some resemblance to the new edge cars in shape and such in those spy shots. however, like mentioned above it is probably a mesh of things to throw people off with the new suspension underneath it.. However I do think the car will be smaller and lean more towards the size etc of the new edge cars.

Interesting. Ford's Virtual Pivot Control Link... I wonder how that will impact handling for the next generation Mustang. It aught to make front suspension modification a little more straightforward but more expensive with the double ball joints.

The wheelbase is the same as the S197 and the track width a little wider. So those two specs are a LOT bigger than a SN95.

I see a puffy foam covered camoflaged car with 4 wheels, doors, sweet exhaust tips, and ugly wheels. Beyond that it's not a fastback. That's about all. Oh and it has 4 wheel disc brakes.

I have had a suspicion that the next base GT engine will basically be a BOSS 302 engine. We'll see if I'm right someday. I think the 3.7 will more or less carry over maybe with a small bump in power to the 325 range (to match the Crapmaro). The 2.someting EB will be the "fuel economy/sport" engine option for the fools who want to spend more money to get a less powerful engine and still have some fuel economy that never actually materializes. Ford already does this with the Explorer.

DI would be nice. On the current engine the DI would probably add like 10-12%. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe went from like 306 to 345 with no other mechanical changes. Works out to a 12.7% increase. Putting 12.7% on the 420 hp Mustang makes for damn near 475hp. Would be a really easy way to out horsepower the Corvette with 1.2L less displacement. Ford seems to really like smacking Chevy down with the engine out put (GT500 v. ZL1?) lately.

Weeeeeellllll, the TT 5.0 motors I saw were not DI from what I could tell. That doesn't mean they won't be though. They have some time to work on that. The GT500 will be a 2016 car, if not 2017.

I want to get one but think I will wait until 2016 model for the bugs to be worked out.
