I love the look of it!! I think the boys over at Ford did an amazing job with this.
Now lets see some real world #'s

The ones I have seen were running 305's all th way round. But now that they went wider on the rear rim I'm guessing 305/315. We can hope.
I could put together a 600rwhp n/a ls7 motor for ~$7-8k. No need to spend huge money on MAST name.
Every serious track person I know with a zr1 swaps from carbon to iron brakes. They offer better pad choices, better modulation, and lower cost to track. Only down side is the added weight, but braking is better and more controlled.
No auto sucks. Do this car with a paddle shifted 6r80. I've said it time and time again, I will never own another 500+hp car without an auto. Manuals suck at that power level.
GT350 is track oriented. A BOSS 302/LS if you will, but a little "more".
GT350R will be the successor to the 00' Cobra R. It is a street car with a focused track execution.
GT500 is gonna be bawls out nuts and then some.
King Cobra is just the SEMA car that looks like ass.
A 10.5 is perfect for a 305. 11 is perfect for a 315.Isn't a 305 on a 10.5 a bit big for racing around a track structurely? Like wouldn't the sidewall want to flex? I guess they might have addressed that with the revised MPSS
From what I understand the GT350 has pretty much the same trans as the 13' GT500 Track Pack (the one with the cooling pump) but with some updates.I would have to imagine that they took what they learned from the Boss 302 S program and worked with Tremec to work on some things. If that's the case than I can see why they wouldn't want to spend money developing a paddle shifted automatic when the manual works just as well around a road course.
Greg, I think they are just doing a throwback to the 1960's GT350 badges...

Ahh..ok, thanks; I don't know the history of the GT 350/500 very well but in the 60's did they have BOTH the 350/500 around at the same time if so did they BOTH wear the snake emblem?
Love the looks but just don't see how you are going to put Carol's name on that and make it stick when he had nothing to do with the design/building/etc of the car.
He had nothing to do with the last GT500 either besides driving one a little.
Nothing more than signing the paperwork to license the use of the name to Ford, that's assuming he even signed it himself.
I don't really care that its a GT350.
Exactly my point. Why not call it something else. The Shelby GT350(original one, not that one that looks like a volkswagon) is special. There is no denying that. All one has to do is go to an auction where one is sold.
I would rather it be called a Cobra.
Yes, the GT350 was 1965-1970, the GT500 was 1967-1970. Both had similar badges with varying stripes denoting the "350" or "500".
I would rather it be called a Cobra.
........I like it. A lot. Just when I convinced myself that I didn't need another one ford goes and does this. I wish the hp was a little more impressive but god damn that's the first sexy s550 I have seen.
But wait it has MAGNETS!!!!! Cmon you fucking fanboys, talk shit about this car because it has a magnetic suspension just like yall did the ZL1. I will be waiting!!!!!
You know it means around 505. If it was 550, it would say "somewhere between 5 and 6 hundred."I am hoping the 500+ means 550. We will see.
