I have been waiting for this car for some time. I think given the current style of the Mustang it's done as well as it can be. (read not fully there with the carp face) I do applaud Ford for making it a manual only. Steve McQueen would NEVER have had an automatic. I was reading some posts over on the Mustang 6G site and there are a bunch of butt hurt guys crying because you can't have an automatic. Good thing their cars have windows, keeps their dress from blowing over their face. I don't give a shit if an automatic is quicker, has 7 speeds, 10 speeds or 15, it makes a car a four wheeled video game. It's one more way you are removed and not engaged with it. If all the car is a basic transportation, fine, not much more than an appliance at that point. We are talking about enthusiast cars here, and the more I'm part of that, the better. I'm a dinosaur, I know that, hell I don't even want tire pressure monitors.
The bigger issue for me is where $50k puts me. For that much money I can pick up a 2017 Corvette with an aluminum frame, dry sump motor, and ELSD. I do love Mustangs, but for $50k a lot of other great choices come into the picture. Need to think about this for a while.
