225/60/18 for the winter

That size is at least 1.5" taller than any of the OE 18" sizes and I notice that you're lowered . . . are you planning to run all four at this size or just two?

all 4. worst case ill go with 225/55/18, but i was hoping for a slight lift to compensate for the spring " drop over winter. 60s are also around 20$ cheaper per tire than 55s.

You'd be gaining about 3/4" ride height/ground clearance over the OE sizes, with the trade-off being that the tops of the tires will move about 3/4" closer to the wheel wells. Measure carefully.

225 is too narrow for a 8.5 inch rim.

I assume you will be using the OEM wheels right?

I am running 225/45/17 on my OEM wheels, and they are hella narrow. I couldn't pass up the deal I got on them though.

I would run 235/55/18, as that is what is on my 07 GT on our 18'' Polished rims which are Perfect.

The more profile you have in deep snow, or any snow, the more traction. 60 is a bit high. I'd try and go 55.

225/55 or 225/60 would be fine on that rim, larger circumference and narrower tire will do fine in the snow. Not that much a difference in overall size anyway.

225/60 will work on an 8.5" wide rim, even though it's half an inch above the range that most tire mfrs recommend. But being half an inch over max is quite a bit better than being half an inch below minimum. They'll ride a little stiffer, build up a little less heat, offer a little more lateral stability if one goes flat, and offer just a little less protection against curb rash.

You may end up running the tires a psi or two above recommended in order to even out the wear across the tread.

I've been through the 225/60 on 8.5" wide rims deal on another car in 15" when the tire mfrs stopped making really good tires in anything wider.
