Been thinking about doing a mt82 swap for my 3v with a tr3650, was just checking to see if anyone had a solution for the vss adaption to make it work with the Hall effect sensors that come with the mt82 and a solution for the driveshaft length difference

Why are you replacing the more reliable TR3650 with the less reliable MT82?
If you want a low cost 6-speed manual swap, a used TR6060 from.a GT500 is the way to go.

Been on the fence about it and been looking for a while and can’t find any tr6060s for a decent price, the price point I’m finding for mt82 is low enough to where I can buy a new one if it ever goes out lol

Had bigger plans for the car but had a kid recently so I’ve gotta dial back on car stuff and my trans has a bunch of miles on it and I’ve been wanting a 6 speed and the mt82 should hold up pretty well since Im gonna be na for the foreseeable future

You are going to have more trouble than it’s worth.

MT82s have a different pigtail for the speed sensor and have a different output shaft reluctor wheel.

Just do a TR6060 or T56 Mag and make your life a lot easier. Many direct swap kits for those.

There's a YouTube video showing a supposedly successful MT-82 swap in an '06 GT. Apparently a Dakota Digital SGI-100BT speedo/tach interface was the trick to getting the stock speedometer to function but there is zero info on how it was wired in. As far as I can see, Dakota makes no claim that the box can convert one signal type to another. It's possible you could get it working by feeding a wheel speed sensor signal into the Dakota Digital unit if the MT82 OSS sensor ends up being a no-go. I'm not sure if splitting that signal could cause ABS/TC issues though.

Yeah I seen the same video and the guy apparently doesn’t respond to any comments at all, I seen a couple threads around on different sites where some say the car has no issues other than the speed sensor and can run without it and one thread says the car won’t drive for 5 minutes without it throwing codes and running horrible. And I know it’s not a super common swap so I’m just asking for a definitive answer. I won’t mind driving without the speedo working as long as the car can run fine without it

Disconnect the speed sensor on the 3650 and go for a drive. You'll have your answer.
