Anyone running a FRPP 62mm TB with a Whipple? I have been throwing codes for a year and after various test I think it may be the FRPP TB is so big it pushes the TB sensor up against the super charger and the heat fries my sensor. Anyone running this combo? Any issues? If this Is the problem which one should I switch too, BBK?

I'm running it just fine. The Ford racing unit is produced by Accufab if i'm not mistaken. Check your wiring to the TB, that was my problem when I thought it was the sensor or solenoid. Previous owner installed a non-IC whipple kit on the car before I bought it and claimed he couldn't fix the problem. I upgraded with the big boost kit and few other things, and took a look at the wiring like many helpful people on here suggested. I found the previous owner lengthened the throttle wires to the sensor and solenoid with butt connectors (lazy guy I guess). I removed the connectors and soldered the wire instead heat shrink wrapped. Problem solved and 2 years or so without any problems.

I haven't heard of anybody having problems with the FRPP throttle body, but I've heard of many having issues with the BBK unit. Seems like that would be a step backwards IMO.

You're not that far away and I have a perfect stock TB if you'd like to try it for a couple weeks and see if your issue goes away, That will at least tell you if the issue is your TB or not.

The whipple kit comes with crimp connectors. A proper crimp will work fine but it's very important to have the correct crimping tool.

I ran an frpp 62mm tb with a whipple. Never had a problem. Have you been throwing codes since it was on? Do the codes only come up when you are getting on it?

Ok I'm back..LOL

My issues started with just a P2135 code, it would happen on start up if I let the car sit for a week or more without driving, once I cleared the code it would run great. Over time it got a little worse and every once and a while would throw the P2135,P0481, P061 and 2105. I replaced the sensor and that only worked for a week or two and the issues came back slowly and got worse over time, it would stall while driving. I took it and had the tune looked at, the idea was to put my stock TB back on, wound up fouling my plugs and he is so busy I got tired of waiting for him (4 weeks) to get to it, I put the FRPP TB back on and got him to data log it for a few miles, said everything looked great. Car sat 2 weeks before we took it out to get lunch ran fine, when we left it would start for 5 seconds and stall, did this for 5-6 times then finally started and ran fine, this was a new problem. I took it to ford dealer they had problems starting, replaced TB sensor and it started right up, they have a new way of testing TB's, so I'm going to have them check the TB since I bought it used on here, I'm also going to check my alternator and battery to be thorough, should know more on Monday. My mechanic did use a ford splice connectors when he did the wiring, so I'm going to have them solder my connections as well. I did check the clocking of the spring on the TB and it checked out. I was wondering if the sensor being right up against the supercharger was an issue for anyone else, I guess not. So the search continues, open to any other ideas?

Was running the FRPP throttle body with a Whipple and never had an issue. Now running a L&M 72mm (GT500) throttle body that fits so tight against the supercharger I had to file down the outside of the connector to get it to fit. No problems with this one either.

Check the wiring, very probably is that.

Again........I'm betting that's it.

Like Bruce said about the connectors, but I rather like a clean solder. Either way, I'm voting on the wiring being the issue.

I can almost garauntee you it's the wiring. I had the same problems, same codes. Went back and removed the butt connectors and used solder/shrink wrap and that fixed the problem. No issues since.

Ok, they said there was something like 14 joints they had to solder, replaced the TB sensor and so far it's running like a champ. Here to hoping it holds up Thanks guy's

Good deal, hope it stays that way! I ran the same throttle body with a whipple at 17 PSI and had no issues.
