Oh man! Now you've gone and done it. You're making me think I should put a DOHC 5.0 in my '91 5.0 LX.

I'd say it's a little less popular in other applications for other reasons than the price of the engine. Mainly it's because the only controls pack out there is the FRPP one. It's pricey, twitchy and manual-only so, to run auto you need an A4LD or something and another stand-alone controller. There is, afaik, currently no stand alone trans controller for the 6R80 auto in a late model Mustang or F150.

I know I’m replying a few years too late but I’m getting into my swap and just wanted some clarification. You were able to swap the actual motor mount bracket that bolted up to your GT motor to the F150 motor. I’m scratching my head trying to decide if I should buy the brackets because In pictures the bolt holes don’t look exact.
