Car is a 2008 Bullitt. Currently I have a VMP five undred undred undred setup on a chrome M90. No other modifications besides an upgraded power wire to the FPDM. Maybe 400 rwhp? I can only get 91 octane no-ethanol here. No E85!
Hoping to get out to the track next month and see what the car can do in the 1/4. I have a non-optimal drag tire setup of 275/60R15 M/T DR's out back with skinnies in front. At least there'll be some hope of hooking up. I'll drop the clutch and let it rip. Most of the summer I skate around on 255 Hankooks on the factory Bullitt rims.
Once the VMP 1.9 shows up here I'll get some photos of what it looks like and how it's put together. I know there's 25 or so kits out there, but very few photos on the forums I visit. I'll be dynoing the car before and after. I already have a lot of data logs showing my IAT's with the M90, and I'll be doing similar stuff with the TVS next spring.
Plans for the engine itself are to pull it out and clean it up, check the heads for straightness, strip the block, check the bores to see what size pistons I can use, then send it off for honing or boring and honing. I will not be using torque plates as per BruceH and other's recommendations - they are also basically impossible to find here. Mod max racing seems to have the best setup on pistons and rings, I would probably spec their house brand stainless rings as they are gas nitrided, similar to the hellfire rings available from a major manufacturer. Fresh Ford fasteners will be used for the mains and for the cylinder heads. I'll probably replace the water pump. Melling will provide the oil pump.. http://doncaseyinc.com//news/jasper-news/231-. I'll keep using Mobil 5w20 as I've been doing forever.
I already have my boss 302 rods which will be used with the stock crank. During balancing I'll have them check the crank for straightness.
I may make a sister thread on the tech side for nitty gritty stuff I can't find in any other threads.
Shooting for 500-550 RWHP. I'm going to try to find a FRPP 62mm throttle body that doesn't cost a million dollars. Drive pulley on the blower will be 72mm... unless I need a 69. Not sure what those Roush injectors are capable of, and IIRC the VMP 1.9 kit does not come with any others. This may be what dictates my power ceiling.
