Car is a 2008 Bullitt. Currently I have a VMP five undred undred undred setup on a chrome M90. No other modifications besides an upgraded power wire to the FPDM. Maybe 400 rwhp? I can only get 91 octane no-ethanol here. No E85!

Hoping to get out to the track next month and see what the car can do in the 1/4. I have a non-optimal drag tire setup of 275/60R15 M/T DR's out back with skinnies in front. At least there'll be some hope of hooking up. I'll drop the clutch and let it rip. Most of the summer I skate around on 255 Hankooks on the factory Bullitt rims.

Once the VMP 1.9 shows up here I'll get some photos of what it looks like and how it's put together. I know there's 25 or so kits out there, but very few photos on the forums I visit. I'll be dynoing the car before and after. I already have a lot of data logs showing my IAT's with the M90, and I'll be doing similar stuff with the TVS next spring.

Plans for the engine itself are to pull it out and clean it up, check the heads for straightness, strip the block, check the bores to see what size pistons I can use, then send it off for honing or boring and honing. I will not be using torque plates as per BruceH and other's recommendations - they are also basically impossible to find here. Mod max racing seems to have the best setup on pistons and rings, I would probably spec their house brand stainless rings as they are gas nitrided, similar to the hellfire rings available from a major manufacturer. Fresh Ford fasteners will be used for the mains and for the cylinder heads. I'll probably replace the water pump. Melling will provide the oil pump.. http://doncaseyinc.com//news/jasper-news/231-. I'll keep using Mobil 5w20 as I've been doing forever.

I already have my boss 302 rods which will be used with the stock crank. During balancing I'll have them check the crank for straightness.

I may make a sister thread on the tech side for nitty gritty stuff I can't find in any other threads.

Shooting for 500-550 RWHP. I'm going to try to find a FRPP 62mm throttle body that doesn't cost a million dollars. Drive pulley on the blower will be 72mm... unless I need a 69. Not sure what those Roush injectors are capable of, and IIRC the VMP 1.9 kit does not come with any others. This may be what dictates my power ceiling.

I'm in for this and will offer up any help I can. On the throttle body I would highly recommend going with the GT500 style simply to give you more options on your air intake setup. If you stick with the smaller throttle body then your only viable setup is the stock Roush box.

Also the stock GT500 throttle bodies are cheap and plentiful. It will give you more air than the stock GT throttle body but not as much as the polished FRPP 62mm. If you decide to upgrade down the road you have the FRPP 65mm or VMP 67mm polished throttle bodies available.

For fuel injectors I picked up the ones that come with the Roush 2.3 TVS kit. They are also readily available from guys upgrading their 2.3 blower setups. I also installed the GT500 fuel pumps to handle the extra fuel requirements.

Ah, no kidding about the TB/elbow. That scrubs my idea as I want to run the 2300 style intake. I was going to just use the FRPP 62 because the kit I'm buying already has the elbow suited to it - but I can get an elbow from Justin for the stock GT500 TB, and a throttle body, at a lower cost.

S&H has a pump to install in my stock hat that will apparently service up to 600 rwhp without a voltage booster. I'm going to try that.

Good info on the fuel injectors, if I need them. Looks like 38's will be borderline, I don't really want to jack up the pressure as the pump will be working.

I shipped the VMP TVS-1900 to you via fed-ex.... just 2 hrs ago. 48 lb box. The 55/62 elbow is also inside the box..along with the 85mm pulley. I sent u the fedex tracking # via e-mail.

The injectors that Roush provide with the TVS will get you there, GT500s will work too, Roush's are bigger.

If 91 only, choose your CR wisely, a set of Manley 2V/4V 11cc piston would be a nice choice, will put you in the middle 9s CR wise, you can run those with limiters, no issues with them not having a 3V pattern.

Yes, Canada. The fuel suppliers I have contacted have sworn to me that there is no ethanol in the 91!

I was thinking of shooting for stock compression - 9.8 or so to 1. Manley has 3v pistons as well:

.3 of a point.. will make a difference? I'm looking at 12 psi or so.

Just want to make sure. 91 octane is the highest octane available or is a higher octane available with ethanol?

Husky has 94 but it's not available everywhere. If I want to go to my parent's farm I need to burn 91 on the round trip.

Maybe I could take a few gallons of straight alcohol with me. A few guys around here burn solely Husky 94.

That's easy enough. Tune and run it on the 94. Keep another tune for 91 with less spark advance for times 94 isn't available.

BTW all I have around here is 92 and it's an E10 blend. I've run my current 12:1 motor with 7psi on 92 without issue. IMO the 10% ethanol really helps. I don't think I could do it on gas without alcohol.

I keep my tuner with me. Usually it has a tune for 92, E85, and E80. My fuel tables and adaptable learning are set up so that it will still be ok with different levels of ethanol.

I wonder how having a tee and valve system where you'd port the bypass over to get vacuum from before the rotors when you didn't have that great of fuel on board would work. Theoretically, you'd never go into boost, and could probably run 91 or even 87 and putter down the highway.

Driving home last night I realized my vacuum idea wouldn't work.

Any downsides to running the comp limiters with the stock cams? 2v pistons are likely cheaper and would cover the cost.

Also got to thinking of using the 69mm pulley for 13-14 psi.

The 69mm isn't going to get you to 14 lbs of boost. I had a 10% overdrive crank pulley and a 63mm blower pulley. That combination gave me a max boost of 14.5 lbs. The 69mm will be about 11 lbs.

Look at the VMP TVS-1900 drop down box for pulley's. The 85mm is correct, after that, they are all outa whack by 1 psi. The 69mm should be 11-12 psi, with oem crank pulley. I think the 66+63mm require an 8 rib belt. If that's the case, you could start with the 69mm pulley (2.72")...and see if it does the job. You could always add the 10/12% OD pulley at a later date. The 69mm pulley + 90mm idler should work with the oem roush belt. If a 10/12% OD pulley is added at a later date, the 90mm idler could be replaced with the oem 75mm idler.
