90K Coyote

Well, it looks like I may have one of the oldest coyotes on the forum. She just crossed 90K miles and now I'm thinking about what kind of maintenance to expect that might've been different from the '08 that I had.

Apart from all the fluids, 02 sensors, plugs, plug wires, etc., is there anything that might be different when doing the once over for the 5.0ld?

Side note - I'm about to have my first brake maintenance encounter with the Brembos, and at 90K I'm probably do for the rotors being turned, right?

I've noticed in the last day or two that the brake pedal feel is a little stiffer and more numb than usual.

Hahaha. Well that day is coming soon, good sir. For the first time, I may add. I've done (roadcourse) track days in the past, but haven't done anything with the coyote yet. There's an 1/8th mile track in the city I recently moved to that I'll go and cut my teeth on. But first, I want to make sure I'm not "racing" on any old parts and the car in poor health.

As luck would have it, it stopped exhibiting those characteristics the day I finally got a hold of my buddy who's the tranny tech at the dealership I used to work at. I explained everything and he ruled it most likely from the heat and stop and go. (1 hour commute plus constant clutch action due to most of my commute being stop and go). Makes sense because the car would "recover" once it rested for a bit. Hasn't done it since.

Lol it always seems to work out that way. Well, that's good it's not doing it anymore but I wouldn't be surprised if you had to take care of it in the next 25K miles.

Well, I think a McLeod RXT Twin Disc, a new slave cylinder, and braided line oughta fix that.

I put 70k miles on my GT in the first three years, but for the last year I've worked from home - and only added 3800 more.

I had to put rear brake pads on my car at 30k and 70k. Both times they were worn smooth out.

I put front pads on at 30k also, but only because I was sick of all the dust from the stock Brembo pads. Hopefully your rotors have enough left to be turned. Most manufacturers run the rotors a little thin for weight savings so you might be looking at replacing them. The rear rotors are cheap, but the front Brembo rotors are not. I think they were $125/ea.

I bought it with about 70K on it already this past February, and I drive A LOT. Gets up there pretty quick!

Yeah, I've been noticing the Brembo stuff is more, which is to be expected, but still. :/ I'm going to go have the rotors inspected this week because I know nothing about brakes. I really should educate myself.

Theres a guy on MM with 120k plus. I think he just did belts/fluids/plugs and is still driving away. His commute is like 89 miles one way.

Ha! Yeah let me get right on that! I'm so thankful for having worked at a dealer for the past three years. They still treat me as if I work there. Well, in service at least.
