It was very windy so the turn out was nice and light, we got to make 10 heats by days end. It was in the 50's so tires were not so sticky and the track was very slippery from debris and temp.
My first run was 71 sec, my 8th run was best at 64 sec, fastest heat of the day was 54 sec (a proper driver and R Comps). The twin screw almost has too much grunt down low, traction was an issue for me, especially when you get the right anlge and you see a nice straight, id get too excited and spin.
I sat in for a run with this guy in his C4 Vette, the car was misfiring and down on power, yet he ran a 57!!!! The anlges he created and the way he used the brakes and throttle to slide the car to his advantage was incredible.
Its a fine art to learn how to drive smoothly yet be very aggressive.
