A matter of sway bars

Assumptions, you are making them. You dont' want to soften the bar because it slow down direction change, when you have shock left and shocks are what control the roll rate (bars and springs the roll amount).

This is why I am constantly reminded of why I can't stand most sites. The answer "every way" isn't correct. The fact is all those ways can free a car up, but they do it in different ways. What's best is which way works best for you.....

I guess I was under the impression that wheel rate (and by extension spring rate) plays as much of an important roll in transitional response as the dampers do by decreasing the time the weight transferred from side to side by reducing the amount of weight transferred side to side which also reduces mechanical grip some. Is that not right as well? I'm glad that there are people here who know more than I to help clarify things and are willing to put up with my silly questions! Thanks Sam, it is appreciated!

I have since moved the rear bar to the stiffer setting and in my limited street driving which included a 40' roundabout the car felt much more willing to rotate and the rears where starting to howl (as the star specs do right before they start screeching as they go beyond the limit) before the fronts did. That said, I am not willing to push it beyond the limit in daily driving due to the obvious safety issues. It will be two weeks before I will be on the Nationals concrete again for the Evolution Super Shootout to test it. I will be in Des Moines at the Event Center for the DMVR autocross event there this next weekend. My hope is that this change is in the right direction. I suppose worst case I just go back to the middle setting on the bar and raise the Watts link!

I missed our regions only Test'n'Tune this year due to work and as much as I would love to do the Evolution Test'n'Tune before the Super Shoot out in two weekends, it is $75 and that is quite a good chunk of change considering the event is only $10 more than that. Next year I will be taking the Test'n'Tune date off way in advance to avoid the problem I had this year.
