So I have had a few of you guys ask me about mounting compressors, tanks, and all the hardware in the trunk. Let's face it Mustangs do not have a ton of trunk space as it is, so I wanted to show you guys a couple of examples of how everything mounts. You don't have to loose your entire trunk!

Thanks for all the questions everybody, keep them coming!!

This is our company car. Sorry for the crappy pics

Very nice...

I was wondering the same thing. I had the plan if I went air ride to remove the spare tire area and make it flat in the trunk. Then to mount the air tank under the car and the compressor in the trunk. I have the issue of a 6 gallon trunk mounted intercooler tank in the back right now to keep the mammoth cool. So room would be a issue a bit.

Or to mount tank in the trunk and to paint it to match the car with stripes... ?

Anybody ever install one of your kits on a vert? Just thinking out loud as we have less trunk space, and the convertible piston assembly is where it would "normally" go.

Thanks!

Believe it or not my 57 year old mother drives a bagged convertible Mustang! I will see if I can find the pics of the set up I did in her trunk.

Thanks! I was just curious, as I see most of the installs have the compressor right where we couldn't place it!

I like the install on the company car. I'd panel it in with 1/4" MDF, carpeted to match the factory trunk lining. (if you don't think that would make the compressor run too hot)

Would be cool to post up some pics of the install.

I would have someone install it for me here locally at a shop. I would take pictures of the finished product though. The installer plans to put all the tanks and compressors on the spare tire well since I don't need the spare tire anyways. SO EXCITED!

The back of the S197 mustang trunk has a slope to it. If you build a small "shelf" its the perfect place to mount your compressor and it saves you almost a 12in of trunk space. Here is what we came up with. We test fitted it in my buddy Zaks GT500...

Hey man, How much is it going to cost to have something like that? My kit is coming in a few days. I think I might want that.

Its built from MDF board and then covered in automotive carpet that matches the trunk pretty much dead on. With materials and time you're looking at about $60
