Another TPMS question.

I have just fitted new wheels to my car and the new wheels came with new TPMS sensors. I borrowed a reprogramming tool from a friend in anticipation of having to reprogramme the new sensors to my car.

Well, so far, no TPMS light! I took the car for a ten mile drive and the light hasn't come on.

Is it possible that it has reprogrammed itself automatically, or do I have to do more mileage before it realises that something has changed?

when i swap my wheels out to my track wheels, i can sometimes make 40 mile trip to the track w/o getting the tpms light (no sensors in these wheels at all). and then there are other times when it comes on almost immediately. i don't know what year model you have, and i hate saying "i heard this or i heard that" but.....i "heard" the 2010 model cars don't have to be reprogrammed...but i don't know if it's true. looking at your sig pic, i assume 2009 or older, so i think it's just a matter of time before you get a light.

I have 2010 wheels on my car and never swapped sensors. Like mentioned above sometimes my light will come on sometimes not. There's days I can drive it 10 miles to pick up daughter from school and it will come on, and other times can take it on weekend cruise(100-150) miles and will never come on. Doesnt bother me, just hit reset button, light will blink about 45 seconds and wont come back on until who knows when..

Tried reseting the senors, but the 2010's dont mate with my 07.

My car is an 07. Should I just go ahead and go through the reprogramming sequence anyway, even though the light hasn't come on yet, or would that be a waste of time?

I wished I knew some diehard answers to how these things work, I have a '07. The first year the tpms came on the mustangs. I bought a set of tires and wheels off a member here (DKS) and I believe his car is an '06 and he assured me that the wheels and tires I bought off of him did not have the sensors so I was all ready to buy new sensors.

Well, I have put 1500 miles on the car since changing the wheels and warning has never came on. I know it worked because I had a nail in my old set awhile back and got the low tire warning....Hummm

But if you already have the tool I would do it, It doesn't take long to do.

I would just go through the reprogramming as mine even gets quirky sometimes after doing a corner to corner wheel swap and shows the TPMS error several trips after the swap was done.
