I didn't see your thread, I went back quite a ways and didn't see it. I will read through it tonight when I have more time.

Well one of the advantages of being retired and living in a golf community is getting to play as much as you want. I play about 3-5 times a week in good weather. The disadvantage is being old and I can't hit it as far as I once did. Currently play to a 6.4 index but can't play from the back tees anymore.

That's better than about 99% of the people out on a nice spring day. Maybe someday I can get there. I've broke 90 on a full size course a few times but usually I'm a 90-100 guy.

About 5 1/2 years ago work took our crew out for a golf scramble. I had never played before. Made two good shots and was hooked.

At the time I held HM classifications in High Power Rifle and Long Range High Power. Those two golf shots felt so good that I only shot two more matches before going crazy with golf.

Nowadays I don't golf in heavy rain so I suppose I've calmed down some.

I well understand there seems to be two kind of golfers, those that can take it or leave it and those that can't get enough of it. lol

I used to feel the same way. After playing and realizing how hard those shots are I look forward to watching golf.

The wife and I went to the US Open at Pebble Beach last year. It was amazing seeing the pro golfers up close and seeing those incredible shots in person. I plan to go to more.

Glad to see there are so many others that are cursed with the same illness as me! I have loved golf ever since I was 16 (only 22 now) when my dad moved us out to a golf course. Picked it up my sophmore year in hs and have love it ever since. I shot a low of 78 in hs and went on to play at a small sh!thole of a juco in west Texas where I improved my avg to 76-78 consistantly after that I moved home and worked at a golf store and went to a community college where I met my wife. Needless to say the frequency of my play has been drastically lowered since being married as I was and still am fully engulfed in her! So I play when I can now. But I still love the game and love to watch it any chance I get!

I play once a week in the warmer months... Love it. Average about 42-46 per 9, with a best of 40 (rare). I got my driver figured out pretty consistently this year and averaged around 240-260 yds towards the end of the year, which isn't bad for a 150 lb dude lol. Putting is my main weakness, those 3 putts for bogey f'n piss me off frequently...

Can't wait for spring to see how pathetic my swing will be for a few weeks...

@06SilverBullet Yea neither was I. I was sitting in class and saw her from across the room. Went home and told my mom I found the girl I'm going to marry! Lil did I know she had a bf that I would have to get rid of but that's no big thing when you really want something! Lol! I was 20 and she was 19. After a year in an apt I had to get out of there so we bought our first house when I was 21 and am loving being a homeowner! Take your time man! It'll happen when it needs to!

Played a good course today, The Traditions Golf Club at Stonehouse, in Toano, VA. I shot a 69, this is the best round I've played for a long time.

That's good in so many ways. How many circles were on your card? Congrats.

I played in our golf league on Wednesday. Temps were high 40's, rain, wind. One of the few times I wished I wasn't golfing. Nobody shot their handicap index that day, it was miserable.

Thanks, it was a great feeling but I will pay for it. This round will really screw up my handicap for next month. My buddies will definitely be trying to take advantage of it. lol

I played today, it was ugly...I haven't played in 2 years due to the neck surgery. I really need to take lessons because it's getting ugly. At least I didn't lose any balls like I normally do...haha

Just take it slow, after surgery it will be like starting all over again. Some lessons would definitely help get you back on track.

Playing golf rite now!

Took me four years after back surgery to build enough muscle to play 18.
